Job Description
As a Project Engineer, you will lead and coordinate engineering resources for a program or a subset of a program. You will be responsible for technical coordination, work planning, and execution of a multi-disciplinary team, providing technical management support with respect to a program's cost, schedule, and technical objectives.
ResponsibilitiesLead and coordinate day-to-day execution of the multi-disciplinary project team to meet technical, schedule requirements, and budget constraints.Apply and organize assigned resources to execute the work scope and identify shortages or conflicts.Ensure ongoing project team coordination and communication, especially across disciplines, to ensure full buy-in to project objectives.Coordinate intra-project activities with key support resources, including Systems Lead, Technical Leads, and others.Manage MAIT coordination including generation of test plans and procedures, and the coordination of GSE and test facilities.Identify and manage customer and program risks and opportunities including prioritization, mitigation, escalation, and resolution.Support Program Manager in negotiating key requirements and objectives with the customer.Manage non-labor aspects by liaising with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure project timelines and cost objectives are met.Support the Program Manager with control of the program through regular reviews, audits, and meetings.Prepare detailed schedules to track program progress, including cost assessments and estimates.Maintain program visibility at the customer level through regular meetings and liaise with the customer.Essential Skills5+ years of experience managing R&D projects in a project engineering capacity.Experience with managing projects involving board design and understanding of the overall design process.Experience working with avionics boxes or automotive integration testing.Additional Skills & QualificationsProject management and coordination skills.Proficiency in MS Project and scheduling.Experience in earned value management and risk mitigation.Knowledge of aerospace and avionic systems.Work Environment
The work environment includes a flexible start time with core hours from 9am to 3pm, five days a week with a 40-hour workweek. The candidate will work from home 2-3 days a week and attend the office for critical meetings. The workspace is a cubicle within the engineering team. The team is friendly and collaborative, with an excellent cafeteria. You will directly report to a lead member, working alongside a team of eight members, with involvement in various groups such as controls, materials, and structures.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $50.00 - $70.00/hr.
