Job Description

The Project Engineer, Track & Trace, Serialization will support the successful execution of capital engineering projects across the CHEP operations network by developing project plans, managing installations, and ensuring equipment is commissioned to meet operational standards.

The Project Engineer must collaborate with cross-functional teams and external contractors to ensure all projects meet safety, performance, and budgetary goals, while adhering to Zero Harm principles and environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities May Include:

Develop and execute capital engineering projects, ensuring that all necessary safety, environmental, and regulatory standards are met throughout the project lifecycle.Support the design and layout of new equipment installations, coordinating with internal teams to ensure proper placement, functionality, and compliance with technical specifications.Manage the commissioning process for all new equipment, ensuring that project schedules are adhered to and performance standards are met, including adherence to CQV (Commissioning, Qualification, Verification) processes.Conduct risk assessments for machinery safety, ensuring that installations are compliant with Zero Harm and local safety regulations. Develop and maintain technical documentation for each project.Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to provide ongoing support during the project, including troubleshooting and resolving any issues that arise during installation and commissioning phases.Provide technical solutions and recommendations to guide the development and improvement of projects. Ensure that all stakeholders are regularly updated and consulted throughout the project lifecycle.Coordinate training for operators and maintenance personnel on the new equipment, ensuring seamless handover and operational readiness.Monitor contractors and suppliers to ensure adherence to performance standards, technical requirements, and project timelines. Ensure seamless integration of multiple supplier systems when working on complex installations.

The Project Engineer to S+ Engineering will:

Develop, and execute complex capital engineering projects in support of CHEP North America’s digital strategy.

Lead Key Transformational Initiatives in support of long-term Automation strategies.

Lead Transformational initiatives by develop strategies and collaborating with cross-functional teams in alignment with long-term goals and objectives as it relates to the digitization and tracking of assets.

Manage activities associated with capital project execution to include equipment layout and scope development, requests for quote, purchase order generation, contractor selection, on-site supervision during the installation and start-up of equipment, and proper tagging and accounting of new equipment.

Track and report progress as required against project deliverables to key stakeholders throughout the business

This position requires up to 50% travel. Candidates must be located near a major US airport and have the ability to travel regularly.
