Project Document Controller

An O&G Operator in Houston, TX is looking for a Project Document Controller to join their Project Control team. This is an ongoing contract role that will be renewed on an annual basis. This role is responsible for managing and executing document control activities across both small- and large-scale projects. Supporting the Capital Projects team, the position ensures all documentation processes are properly followed throughout the project lifecycle. It requires a solid understanding of document control systems and procedures, particularly within Owner and Capital Project environments, and experience coordinating across various disciplines and project phases (e.g., FEED, EPC, EPCM).
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage official project documentation, including the receipt, processing, tracking, and archiving of engineering records such as requisitions, purchase orders, ITPs, and inspection reports.
Expedite and oversee the review process for documents from internal teams, contractors, and suppliers, ensuring complete and accurate revision histories are maintained.
Maintain the Capital Projects document control systems to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to quality standards.
Assist Project Engineers and Managers with document-related tasks and data analysis; participate in project kick-offs, progress reviews, and closeout activities.
Manage the distribution and storage of vendor-supplied documents for ongoing facility operations.
Handle multiple high-volume projects with exceptional attention to detail
Contribute to document control planning and support alignment with procedures and expectations.
Work closely with Engineering to identify and implement improvements in document processes.
Other daily, weekly, monthly or special project duties as identified and defined.
