Job Description

AECOM are currently seeking an experienced Project Director. The Project Director Manages a project team on a major account or Project. Actively engaged in business development, securing new / repeat business, and supporting AECOM key business or corporate initiatives. 

Responsibilities:

Demonstrate relevant knowledge of policies, including health and safety, environment, company ethics and business best practices.All contractual obligations, including AECOM DOAs and risk committee procedures, should be thoroughly understood.Performs technical quality reviews, including documentation in project records, by following policies and procedures.Delivers planned profit margins and completes projects without write-downs or margin erosion.Typically manages projects involving RTF (Risk Triggering Factors).Minimizes exposure to claims.Fully comprehends the principles of AECOM's financial systems and is conversant in all contractual matters.Oversee development of project briefs, design programs, and procurement plans in collaboration with internal teams and consultants.Drive coordination between architectural, MEP, and structural consultants to ensure fully integrated and buildable design solutions.Facilitate design reviews, resolve design issues, and ensure compliance with relevant codes and regulations.Lead value engineering workshops to optimize design efficiency and cost-effectiveness.Oversee preparation of tender documents including technical specifications, drawings, and BOQs.Coordinate with commercial and procurement teams during tendering, bid evaluation, and contractor selection.Ensure robust pre-qualification and technical due diligence processes for suppliers and contractors.Serve as the primary interface for clients, consultants, and key stakeholders throughout the pre-contract phase.Manage expectations, ensure alignment of objectives, and lead regular coordination meetings and presentations.Identify design and procurement risks early; develop and monitor risk mitigation strategies.Review and validate cost plans and ensure design solutions remain within budget.Maintain and monitor detailed project schedules and ensure adherence to milestones.Ensure timely and accurate reporting of progress, risks, and key decisions.Maintain complete and compliant records of design development, approvals, and correspondence.

QualificationsMinimum 18+ years of experience in project management, with a strong focus on the pre-contract phase of design-intensive construction projects.Extensive experience with large-scale, multidisciplinary projects involving architectural and MEP/structural systems.Proven ability to lead teams, manage consultants, and deliver projects from concept to contractor appointment.Experience in residential, hospitality or large scale mixed use developments is required.
