🎯 Purpose 

The Project Director shall head the project team through FEED, detailed design, procurement, construction, commissioning, start-up and eventual handover of the plant and its associated facilities to the Employer. 

The Project Director is responsible and accountable for providing and managing an effective service for the Project and acquire oversight of the activities of EPC Contractor project management team. 

The Project Director will also ensure that pertinent information from the management team is promptly and clearly disseminated to EPC Contractor.  

The Project Director has the authority and responsibility for execution of the project in order to produce all work safely, with quality and within budget and schedule in compliance with contractual terms and conditions, as well as company policies.  

To ensure clear agreement of client and contractual objectives and that these are met or exceeded. 

To achieve or better the budgeted gross margin. 

To provide strong HSE leadership 

Direct responsibility and accountability for cost, schedule, quality, scope, safety and environment 

Direct responsibility and accountability for change management. 

 

📋 Responsibilities 

 

 

1.  Direct the Integration of a Large Project  
 Direct the implementation of all functions of project management.  
 Direct the internal company environment to meet the needs of a large project.  
 Direct the project through its development stages.   
 Management of project initiation and team mobilization/start-up and defining project team structure.  
 Assigning tasks to project management team members and assessment performance and appraisals   
 Liaising with the Employer. Obtaining Employer approvals as required.   
 Monitoring, reporting and controlling project costs and schedule through all phases of the Project.   
 Reporting of the project to stakeholders, contractors and Employer management.   
 Managing the work scope, and the change management process.  
 Developing and issuing the Project Execution Plan.  
 Ensuring cost, schedule and performance metrics are rigorously managed.   
 Administering project in accordance with contractual requirements and administration procedures.   
 Management of Project risk.   
 Ensuring technical integrity in all aspects and phases of the project.   
 Ensuring technical assurance activities, such as design reviews and peer reviews are undertaken. - Implementation of, and compliance with, the project Quality Program and Quality Plan.  
 Leading Employer’s internal post-completion audit of the project.  
 
2. HSE Management\:  
 
Work with project manager(s) to ensure that HSE requirements are documented and understood by all project participants  
Compliance with HSE procedures  
Maintain HSE focus for project duration  
Ensuring compliance with Employer requirements as well as statuary and regulatory requirements.  
Leading the EHS program. - Managing interfaces between various stakeholders and contractors. - Identification and recommendation of resource requirements.   
Performance evaluation of relevant personnel.   
Leading project to safe and successful pre-commissioning, commissioning, start up and handover. - Management of project handover, lessons learned and project closeout. 
 
3. Client Relationships\:  
 
Identify, document and communicate the client requirements  
Effective management of multiple stakeholders (internal and external)  
Maintain and build healthy client relationships throughout the project and post completion.  
Proactively resolve performance, scope, cost and schedule issues with the Client as they arise, in conjunction with the Project Manager(s).  
 
4. Commercial Management\:  
Effective management of Worley/Client contract, including delivery of the budget gross margin.  
 
5. Scope Management\:  
 
Effective handover from Business Development Group  
Clear definition of scope  
Compliance with requirements of the contract  
Effective change control process application  
Manage and monitor project performance on an ongoing basis to identify issues and opportunities early and take pre-emptive action.  
Effectively manages project interfaces, in conjunction with the Project Manager(s), including the use of High Value Engineering centres.  
 
6. Time Management\:  
Direct the planning of all scope elements of the project, with the support of the Project Manager(s).   
Develop resource & financial requirements from the project plan.  
Direct the management of the design, procurement and construction activities to meet the project schedule  
Ownership of the project schedule  
Routine monitoring of the key reports and development of corrective action plans.  
Timely and effective documentation turnover and project close-out.  
 
7. Cost Control\:  
Establish cost report for control of projects.  
Monitoring and control of all cost aspects of the  project to forecast costs, obtain approvals, identify  trends and take action to avoid cost overruns and take advantage of opportunities  
Assess performance of cost control system & personnel.  
 
8. Quality Management\: ght sys  
Define the project quality requirements.  
Ensure the ritems are in place and that these are applied on the project.  
Development of a project schedule which allows work to be executed in a logical sequence.  
Compliance with Worley policies and procedures.  
Implement lessons learned system

What you will bring 

 
🔍 Requirements\: 

Established/Proven Leadership record during FEED, Detailed Design and Construction project phases.  

Minimum of 15-20 years industry experience in Project Management role.  

Previous experience in managing major projects( 500M$USD). 

Strong Contractual acumen  

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  

Proven ability to lead multidiscipline team; Ability to direct a project, with the direct supervision and coordination provided by the Project Manager(s). 

Demonstrable commitment to HSE Management in a project environment 

Excellent leadership and communication skills 

High level of customer focus
