Key Responsibilities:

The Project Coordinator will ensure adherence to overall technical and programmatic quality in implementation and regulations and the timely submission of overall deliverables given in the project proposal. These positions are placed in Vaharai and Muthur project offices and s/he is responsible for ground level project implementation in Vaharai and Muthur Divisional Secretary Divisions.

Major Responsibilities

Under the guidance of senior project coordinator and in collaboration with relevant technical team, develop implementation models, delivery mechanism and approaches.Work closely with the relevant government organizations and target beneficiaries to implement the project.Ensure the beneficiary selection are done timely and with high level of accountability.Plan & organize effective donor visits in coordination with partners, government entities and communities.Regular coordination meetings with District/ Divisional Secretariat Offices, other relevant government entities, agencies and other stakeholders.Manage project divisional budget within approved spending levels.Facilitate the timely submission of monthly, mid - year and annual reports as per grant requirement.


Required qualifications, experience & competencies

Three (3) years of experience in Community Development, Programme / Project Coordination in an international organization preferably in the INGO context with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, International Development Studies or Community Development or Five (5) years of experience in Community Development, Programme / Project Coordination in an international organization preferably in the INGO context with a Diploma in Social Sciences, International Development Studies or Community Development.Experience in capacity building for local stakeholders/partners.Experience in fisheries and aquaculture, environment change adaptation sectors would be an added advantage.Effective networking and coordination skills.Extensive travel to the project locations will be required.Written and oral communication skills in Tamil & English.Ability to ride a motor bike with a valid riding license.
