This role will require continuous communication with all project team members and will be responsible for identifying and implementing continuous improvements of material handling methods. **District Overview** Kiewit Nuclear Solutions is a full-service engineering, project management and construction provider operating across North America. Our experience spans all aspects of the nuclear market from carbon-free, small modular reactors to Department of Energy science, environmental and nuclear security mission capabilities. With these broad capabilities, we operate in the power utility, renewable energy, industrial and infrastructure markets. **Location** This project is located in Cambridge, ON. **Responsibilities** + Plans and implements an engineering and construction program, including defining the project plan, activities, milestones, and manpower requirements + Assist in the development and maintenance of Comprehensive Work Package in cooperation with construction and engineering. + Identify, report, and secure approval for deviations from the design documents as they occur and before release to construction. + Provide assurance that construction activities are performed in accordance with written and approved policy, standards, programs and applicable procedures. + Provide and ensure effectiveness of the liaison function between field trades and design engineers for problem resolution and information flow. + Provides status and progress reports to customer, project team, and management + Establish and maintain interfaces with other internal groups, subcontractors and suppliers supporting the project. + Develop and write detailed work plans in cooperation with construction leads. + Maintain high standards related to final product quality + Develops and maintains the project schedule and budget for the engineering and construction segments of the project + Controls expenditures within limitations of project budget + Coordinates preparation and delivery of project deliverables, design documents, as built drawings, turnover documents, etc. + Reviews project design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements and related specifications + Coordinates activities relating to technical developments, scheduling and resolving engineering design and test problems + Interfaces with customers to provide project status reports and ensures customer needs are met + Assists and monitors safety programs and statistics as required + Active involvement in quality assurance with regards to understating and implementing policies and procedures. + Develop material handling plans for each critical construction activity utilizing 3D modeling. **Qualifications** + Pursuing an Engineering Degree (Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical) is preferred. + Ability to work full-time during the summer + Minimum GPA of 3.0 + Knowledge of Aconex, Bluebeam, Excel an asset. + Able to read blueprint an asset. + Excellent interpersonal, communication (both oral and written) skills. + Valid G license and accessible to a car + Need to work in person at site office/trailer. **Other Requirements:** • Regular, reliable attendance • Work productively and meet deadlines timely • Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment • Perform work safely and effectively.
