Overview
This position is responsible for the overall coordination of hollowcore, full precast and pipe projects. This includes document and drawing review and preparation, resolving design and production problems, ensuring drawings and designs are completed according to building codes and regulations production and scheduling control and inspecting products to ensure they are produced to specifications.
This is a temporary position to support our operation with the possibility of a future long-term role.
Responsibilities Perform take-offs from tender drawingsAid Estimators in ensuring labour and raw material costs are correctly included in quotesAid in obtaining pricing from suppliers, engineering and freight companiesAssist in preparing weekly/monthly financial reports.Look for ways to save money by reducing materials, labour, etc throughout project executionObtain PO/contract, purchase details and schedule from contractorProduce or arrange for shop drawings to be completed, submitted and approvedCoordinate delivery of products to jobsiteCoordination of subcontractors; including their safety, schedule, production, and proficiency for projectsPlan production to meet deadlines, balance overtime, workload etcProvide technical support to our customers and to consultantsEnsure completed products meet customer specifications and deadlinesBuild relationships with new and existing contractorsSpecific Accountabilities:Coordination of all assigned projectsMeeting customer delivery deadlinesReporting:Reports directly to the Pipe & Precast Projects ManagerWorks closely with the Project Manager, plant and yard staff, local sales team, estimators and sales staff from other Lafarge pipe and precast plants Qualifications CET or A Sc T designation, Diploma in Contractor/ Construction Management or 3 years related experiencePMP designation or 3 years related experienceEngineering degree and registration as a P Eng is an asset2 years of Microsoft Office and AutoCAD experience
