General Statement The Montana Area Health Education Center (AHEC) and Office of Rural Health (MORH) are dedicated to enhancing healthcare access for rural Montanans by increasing the supply and distribution of healthcare professionals through strategic academic and community partnerships. Duties and Responsibilities Serve as liaison between Montana Office of Rural Health/Area Health Education Center and MSU Mark and Robyn Jones College of Nursing with nursing initiative projects. Assist nursing faculty and MORH/AHEC in meeting project goals, coordinating educational opportunities and trainings (both virtual and in-person formats). Advise nursing students participating in MORH/AHEC-supported educational programs. Assist the Director with projects of the MORH/AHEC. Research grant opportunities and assist MORH/AHEC team with writing grants. Develop content for websites related to MORH/AHEC. Provide support to committees of MORH/AHEC and represent MORH/AHEC at meetings. Research, write reports and make presentations on rural health topics and other projects of MORH/AHEC. Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills Bachelor’s degree in Health, Public Administration, Social/Behavior Science, Nursing or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. At least one year of experience in HRSA-grant program coordination. At least one year of experience supporting or coordinating academic or healthcare-related programs, preferably involving rural health and nursing education. Experience developing or managing web content and communicationsfor student-facing or academic programs. Experience advising or mentoring nursing or health professions students, particularly in rural clinical or academic placements. Familiarity with data collection and grant reporting processes, including an understanding of project timelines, deliverables, and evaluation metrics. Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills Experience working within or alongside a College of Nursing or academic health program, particularly in program coordination, faculty support, or student advising. Knowledge of rural health workforce challenges and strategies related to nursing pipeline development and healthcare access. Experience planning and facilitating trainings, meetings, or educational events in both virtual and in-person formats. Experience utilizing Salesforce for data management. Experience in administering Canvas courses. The Successful Candidate Will Communicate clearly/disseminate information with nursing students and faculty located across the state. Have a strong working knowledge of project requirements and timelines for programs, assuring data required for grant reporting is collected in line with MORH/AHEC guidelines. Be highly organized with great attention to detail. Demonstrate excellent, professional verbal and written communications skills. Establish and maintain effective working relations with coworkers in a team-oriented environment. Represent the department to others in a professional and courteous manner.
