Job Description

WHAT’S THE JOB?

The Project Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the management of Alternate Work Requests (AWR). Reporting to the AWR Manager, the Project Coordinator will assist with day-to-day operations, including scheduling and budget management; compiling progress and cost information; working with the DCC/DND and consultant representatives; procurement and coordinating work of and recruitment of subcontractors and Dexterra own forces to oversee site operatives; monitoring job progress; and reviewing safety and quality control procedures. Regular hours of operation 7.30 am to 4.00pm - Monday to Friday on-site.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide support to the Account Director regarding all Facility related issues including coordination of project paperwork, tendering coordination and support, purchase orders.Ensure sites are run safely with emergency and OH&S plans, notice of projects, utility locates, WSIB, traffic plans etc.Track RFI submissions and responses for clarity, completeness and timeliness.Assist in project leadership, scheduling and expediting materials and sub trades on projects up to $600,000 in value.Successfully oversee special projects management with accumulated value averaging up to $3,000,000 annually.Monitor and provide feedback on sub trade performance.Prepares deficiency list and monitors corrections.  Assists in the coordination of deficiency corrections.Prepares correspondence and summary project documentation for DCC Clients and/or Contract Representative.Accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing as required on a project basis.Provide support for Defence Construction Canada and Department of National Defence Contract Representatives.Other executive and administrative duties as required.Other special duties as assigned in support of Dexterra business plans.

Qualifications

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Degree or College Diploma in Engineering or Construction/Facilities or Project Management and/or related years of experience combined with post-secondary educationAbility to maintain Security Clearance at National Defence Sites is a requirement (minimum 5 years as Canadian Resident)Scheduling & Planning, estimating projects and facilities operationsAbility to read Blueprints & specificationsExperience with commercial buildings, HVAC, mechanical is an assetWell-developed oral and written communication skillsStrong computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel, CMMS softwareAbility to work as a team playerAbility to work independentlyAbility to work flexible hours and possibly weekendsStrong interpersonal skills are requiredAbility to walk, bend, stoop, balance crawl and reach for extended periods of time.Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.Must be comfortable and able to work on a ladder. Working at Heights. Lifts, and roof tops.
