Our Opportunity
Thales UK has a fantastic opportunity for an individual to join our Project Management Office (PMO) as Project Controller, for Bid and Product Support as part of the centre of excellence for Integrated Airspace Protection Systems.
You will be responsible for ensuring that best practice Project Controls are deployed across bids in accordance with defined Thales processes and that data from those Controls is interpreted and clearly presented as actionable information for Bid & Project Leadership and Senior Management decision making. In particular, the role holder will ensure that all Projects have a robust Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and Performance Management Baseline (PMB).
Some of the Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
Responsible for the deployment and performance of Project Controls within the bid function
Integrated Master Schedule Creation (IMS) & Baseline Management
Implementing and operating change control across bid & prospect baselines - ensuring clarity over the Performance Management Baseline (PMB)
Performance Management:
Ensuring resource forward load is accurate and timely, including the analysis of resource profiles (labour and material) and making recommendations to reconcile anomalies and optimise deployment for assigned bid(s)
Ensuring all deployed processes and tools are compliant with relevant company processes
Where appropriate, providing Subject Matter Expertise for deployed tools
Promoting a continuous improvement culture to Project Control processes: creating innovative solutions to improve local efficiency, ensuring ‘lessons learned’ are captured and incorporated, contributing to wider capability improvement across the Thales PMO community
About You:
If you have a background in PMO, Planning, Estimating/Cost office, or Risk (or similar), or transferable skills and aspirations to pursue a career in Project Controls this could be a new career opportunity for you?
You will have significant experience of planning, scheduling, data analysis & cost control within a complex engineering/manufacturing/ financial environment covering high level & detailed schedule compilation, programme reporting, budgeting & risk management together with the following:-
Use of Primavera P6, Acumen FUSE and Risk X, as well as experience of using project scheduling and risk management tools in complex environments
Using best practice to support the structuring of complex engineering projects including the WBS and IMS, ensuring the baseline is captured and realistic and conducting Critical Path Analysis
A strong track record of successfully designing, deploying, operating and/or improving the full range of Project Controls in a context relevant to Thales
Using Project data (E.g. Schedule Risk Analysis) to influence Bid & Project Leadership and Senior Management decision making and proactively mitigate risk through both reviews and the day to day operation of Project Controls
Implementing robust governance and bid & project reporting frameworks
Experience of deploying advanced Project Control techniques E.g. Earned Value Management and Schedule Risk Analysis
