Fully Remote Project Controller Job Opportunity!

Description

As a Project Controller, you'll play a key role in ensuring the financial integrity of exciting, high-impact projects. You’ll have the opportunity to manage project budgets, provide insightful reporting, oversee cost management, and lead financial forecasting efforts. With your deep understanding of contract requirements, you’ll ensure accurate billing and financial compliance, working closely with project managers, contractors, and the finance team to deliver projects on time and within budget.

In this leadership role, you’ll guide and mentor the Project Accountants, overseeing critical activities like accounting administration, cost reporting, and audit participation. Your ability to lead, train, and provide performance management will be crucial in fostering a high-performing, motivated team that drives project success.

Essential Responsibilities:

•\tEnsure compliance with Mechanics Lien Act, holdback requirements, payment processes, contract terms, and project closeouts

•\tCollaborate with the project management team to complete monthly management reviews and deliver accurate cost reports

•\tPrepare and present performance summaries and executive-level project progress reports to leadership

•\tDevelop and monitor project budgets, forecasts, and financial plans, ensuring project expenditure aligns with financial guidelines and goals

•\tManage cost and profitability reporting for projects, ensuring alignment with key performance metrics

•\tGuide the team in preparing LEMs, invoices, and progress claims, ensuring adherence to approval processes and contract terms

•\tProvide timely and accurate financial reports and information to the Project Management & Operations teams as required

•\tInvestigate financial anomalies and inquiries, providing interpretation and resolution as necessary

Qualifications:

•\tMinimum of 6 years of experience in operational Accounting

•\tExperience in supporting industries such as Construction, Telecom, or Manufacturing

•\tPost-secondary business degree preferred

•\tStrong knowledge of contractual, legal, and commercial terms within the construction industry

•\tWorking knowledge of construction methods and processes

•\tStrong financial acumen, including equipment utilization, rates, capital decisions, and profitability analysis

•\tProficiency in construction accounting principles and software systems

•\tExcellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail, along with advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)

•\tAbility to work independently and collaboratively, manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines

•\tExperience with construction administration, contract terms, and familiarity with JD Edwards is a plus

Additional Skills & Qualifications

•\tMinimum of 6 years of experience in operational Accounting

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
