As a key member of the Operations team, the **Project Controller** plays a critical role in the financial planning, tracking, and administration of multiple federal programs of varying size and complexity within a fast-growing government contracting subsidiary. This position supports the organization’s financial objectives by ensuring accurate project accounting, rigorous compliance with regulatory requirements, and effective collaboration across Project Management, Contracts, Subcontracts, and Finance. This hybrid position requires two days per week onsite (Tuesday/Thursday) at the Leesburg, VA office, with occasional weekend support during the monthly close cycle (advance notice provided). **Responsibilities** + Support full-cycle project accounting, including monthly billing reviews, accounts payable coding, purchase card reconciliation, and general project administration in compliance with company policies and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR). + Collaborate with Subcontracts to resolve invoice discrepancies, ensuring timely payment and compliance with funding allocations. + Code and track vendor invoices tied to active contracts and subcontracts; maintain accurate subcontractor funding ceilings and calculate month-end accruals as needed. + Partner with Project Managers to develop, analyze, and report on financial performance of assigned contracts, including Firm-Fixed Price (FFP) and Cost-Reimbursable arrangements. + Maintain organized financial documentation to support project tracking and facilitate internal/external audits. + Participate in internal program reviews and support month-end close activities, including journal entries and financial roll-ups. + Cross-train and provide backup to other Operations and Finance team members to ensure continuity of support. + Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and administrative duties as assigned. **Qualifications** + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent professional experience + 3+ years of experience with a background working within both Federal government accounting and corporate systems, to include CostPoint Accounting and DELTEK + Background check required **Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:** + Working knowledge of General Ledger structure, Chart of Accounts, and Profit & Loss reporting. + Familiarity with multiple contract types, including Firm-Fixed Price (FFP), Time & Materials (T&M), and Cost-Plus. + Experience with both direct and indirect cost planning and allocation. + Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and project reporting tools. + Knowledge of GAAP and FAR, including timekeeping compliance under FLSA and federal contracting rules. **How you’ll grow** At Chenega MIOS, our professional development plan focuses on helping our team members at every level of their careers to identify and use their strengths to do their best work every day.
