Job Title: Project Consultant - Development

Purpose and Objective:
Ariba, Inc. seeks a Project Consultant - Development at our Palo Alto, CA location responsible for promoting and supporting Agile by helping the teams understand agile theory, practices, and values.
Expectations and Tasks:
Act as a 'servant-leader' for the Product Owner and the Development Team. Removes impediments on team-level and shield the team from interferences. Act as a buffer between the team and any distracting influences. Help teams to evolve to high performing, self-organized agile teams. Help the Product Owner find techniques for effective product backlog management and know how to arrange the product backlog in a way that ensures the needed work is well understood so the team can continually make forward progress and maximize value. Facilitate all Scrum events and ensure the Scrum framework is followed. Teach the Agile Team in agile methodologies (e.g. Scrum, Kanban). Encourage continuous improvement and be responsible for the visibility of team commitments and progress through use of metrics. Promote collaboration and interactions within the team. Support agile team transformations and have knowledge of Agile Software Engineering Practices.
Education and Occupational Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or a related field of study and five (5) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation. Alternatively, a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or a related field of study and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
Qualifications/Skills and Competencies Experience:
Experience must involve two (2) years in the following:
Agile methodologies;
SDLC phases; and
KPI analysis.
Experience must involve one (1) year in the following:
Cloud budgeting and forecasting;
DBMS, Linux Systems Administration, and Networking; and
SCRUM ceremonies and SCRUM Master.

Compensation Range Transparency: The annual base salary range for this position is $115,740 - $196,740. SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is $128,600 - $218,600. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
