Project Archaeologist
**32960BR** **Service Line:** Environmental **Office Name:** Tampa **Job Description:** Terracon is seeking a skilled and motivated PI/Archaeologist to join our dynamic team. **Job Description:** As a PI/Archaeologist, you will lead and manage archaeological projects from project kickoff through completion, ensuring compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, State Statutes (Ch. 267 in Florida, for example), and other relevant regulations. You will oversee field surveys, site evaluations, and excavation efforts, while supervising and mentoring field crews and junior staff. Responsibilities include preparing technical reports, coordinating with clients and regulatory agencies, and contributing to client outreach. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in CRM, strong knowledge of federal and state preservation laws, and a proven ability to manage multiple projects in a team-oriented, safety-first environment. **1. Technical and Field Expertise** + Proficiency in archaeological field methods (survey, testing, excavation, monitoring) + Strong understanding of artifact identification, site recording, and stratigraphy **2. Leadership and Communication** + Strong leadership and mentoring skills for supervising field crews and junior staff + Excellent written and verbal communication for client and agency interactions + Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams **3.
