We’re proud to be delivering the Queensland Train Manufacturing Program (QTMP), and we’re looking for the best people to help make it happen. 

QTMP involves the design, manufacture and maintenance of 65 new six-car passenger trains to support Cross River Rail and the 2032 Brisbane Olympic and Paralympic Games. These trains will be built at a new, purpose-built facility in Torbanlea on the Fraser Coast. 

About the role

To support the successful delivery of the QTMP project, we are seeking to hire a Project Accountant who will provide essential financial analysis and accounting oversight.

Key responsibilities 

Contribute to the timely & accurate deliverables of the Finance team & assess ongoing opportunities for continuous improvement

Partner with operational and finance stakeholders to drive accurate reporting & analysis

Deliver month-end reporting, project valuations & support payment claims submissions

Month end process including journals, reconciliations and analysis on WIP, billings, cost allocations, profitability & working capital management

Partner with the business to deliver the project Forecast Costs at Completion (FCAC) model including analysis on costs drivers.

Provide excellent service to internal or external customers by understanding and meeting their needs 

Contribute the broader deliverables of the RTS group largely around reporting

Provide guidance & support to the business with financial processes/systems/purchasing 

About You

Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting, or equivalent business experience

Currently completing or willing to complete a CPA/CA/CFA

Extensive experience in finance and accounting roles, including project accounting, analysis, budgeting & forecasting 

Previous experience in project accounting within a multi-disciplinary environment

Previous experience with JDEGS or large ERP system and strong Excel capability

Self-motivated, results-focused and able to work under pressure

Professional, positive attitude with strong stakeholder engagement skills

Collaborative team played with strong work ethic and the ability to manage competing priorities
