Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Project Accountant to join our team on a Contract-to-Permanent basis in Brooklyn, New York. This part-time role involves supporting financial operations for public transit infrastructure projects, ensuring accurate cost tracking and reporting. The ideal candidate will have expertise in project-based accounting and experience working with QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Time. Responsibilities: • Monitor and track job costs to ensure accurate financial records for each project. • Prepare and process cash flow reports and other related financial documents. • Manage subcontractor payments and oversee their financial compliance. • Conduct project-based financial tracking, particularly for construction, engineering, or infrastructure projects. • Allocate labor costs and prepare percent-complete and work-in-progress (WIP) reports. • Utilize QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Time for financial management and reporting. • Collaborate with the team to ensure timely and accurate reporting of all project finances. • Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records efficiently. Requirements • Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Time is essential. • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision. • Strong attention to detail and the ability to learn quickly. • Previous experience in project accounting, particularly within construction or infrastructure industries. • Familiarity with cost accounting and work-in-progress (WIP) reporting. • Excellent organizational and communication skills. • Ability to adapt to part-time scheduling, working approximately 16-24 hours per week on-site.
