Project Accountant
Description We are looking for an experienced Project Accountant to join our team in Fresno, California. In this long-term contract role, you will play a critical part in overseeing financial operations and providing strategic insights for construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background and the ability to manage project-specific financial tasks with precision and efficiency. Responsibilities: • Manage project accounting tasks, ensuring accurate tracking of costs and revenue. • Perform job costing analysis to monitor project budgets and profitability. • Prepare detailed financial forecasts and reports to support project planning. • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring compliance with accounting standards. • Oversee accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes for construction projects. • Conduct audits to ensure financial accuracy and adherence to company policies. • Utilize accounting software systems to streamline financial operations. • Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to provide financial insights and recommendations. • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company practices across all project accounting activities. • Identify opportunities for process improvements within financial operations. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on project-based work. • Proficiency in accounting software systems, including Viewpoint Spectrum. • Strong knowledge of job costing and forecasting techniques. • Expertise in managing accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes. • Familiarity with auditing practices and compliance standards. • Solid understanding of general ledger accounting and reconciliation. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. • Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with teams and stakeholders.
