Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Project Accountant to join our team on a Contract-to-Permanent basis in New Hope, Minnesota. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring compliance with prevailing wage requirements, supporting project teams, and maintaining accurate financial data for construction projects. This position will require excellent organizational skills, a strong understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
Responsibilities: • Review construction contracts to ensure compliance with prevailing wage requirements. • Participate in project kickoff meetings to align on financial and reporting expectations. • Monitor and complete weekly reporting in accordance with contract terms and deadlines. • Document payment discrepancies and address shortfalls as outlined in the contract. • Conduct audits of project settings and wage determination data to ensure accuracy. • Process weekly payroll reports, including uploading data and resolving discrepancies. • Verify apprentice classifications and payments to ensure compliance with wage standards. • Generate required customer billing reports, including weekly payroll and apprentice summaries. • Collaborate with project auditors and provide support during annual and special audits. • Address general inquiries related to prevailing wage compliance and reporting systems. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent experience in project accounting. • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in construction accounting. • Proficiency in accounting software systems such as ADP, Costpoint, and Deltek. • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with office equipment. • Knowledge of prevailing wage standards and compliance processes. • Exceptional organizational abilities to manage multiple projects simultaneously. • Effective written and verbal communication skills. • Experience supporting large teams and working collaboratively across departments.
