Description We are looking for a skilled Project Accountant to join our team in Asheville, North Carolina. This is a long-term contract position within the construction industry, offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to financial management and project oversight. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in construction accounting and contract management, ensuring the seamless execution of financial operations.
Responsibilities:
• Monitor and manage project billing processes, including generating invoices and tracking payment schedules.
• Prepare and analyze aging reports to ensure timely collection of outstanding payments.
• Oversee financial reporting related to construction projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Manage and review customer contracts, verifying terms and conditions align with project requirements.
• Track work-in-progress (WIP) details to provide insights into project costs and financial performance.
• Collaborate with project managers to maintain accurate construction schedules and budgets.
• Handle construction cost accounting, ensuring all expenses are properly allocated and documented.
• Identify and resolve any financial discrepancies or issues within project operations.
• Participate in special projects to enhance financial systems and processes.
• Maintain organized construction documents and records to support audits and reporting needs. Requirements • Proven experience in construction accounting and financial management.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and other accounting software.
• Strong understanding of work-in-progress (WIP) accounting principles.
• Familiarity with contract management and customer agreements.
• Ability to prepare and interpret financial reports with attention to detail.
• Knowledge of construction schedules, costs, and project documentation.
• Excellent problem-solving skills to identify and address financial discrepancies.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with project teams.
