About the role:

As an Implementation Programmer, you'll be responsible for supporting financial institution conversions from competing platforms to the FIS Integrated Banking Systems (IBS) Deposit, Customer Information, Currency Transaction Reporting and Safe Deposit solutions. You'll work closely with implementation business analysts and the client to understand conversion requirements and translate those requirements into specialized conversion programs. IBS Implementation Programmers are required to work weekends (approximately 6-8 weekends per year) to support conversion activities and perform weekly on call support (3-4 weeks per year).

About the team:

The IBS Implementation Team is a well-established, cross-functional group of technical and functional resources that are responsible for supporting new and existing IBS clients through conversion activities of all sizes and complexities.

What you will be doing:

Analyze conversion data files for format, content and structure

Analyze and translate business requirements into specialized conversion programs

Code, test and debug highly customized conversion programs

Evaluate conversion exceptions and errors for possible solutions

Assist in the balancing and verification of conversion projects

Demonstrate an understanding of FIS systems and the financial services industry

Suggest technical alternatives and improves/streamlines processes and systems

Completes project assignments and special projects commensurate with job expectations

Provide input into unique client requests, including solution design and project estimates

May provide leadership and/or guidance to other technical professionals

Other related duties as needed

IBS Implementation Programmers are required to work weekends (approximately 6-8 weekends per year) to support conversion activities and perform weekly on call support (3-4 weeks per year).

What you will need:

Knowledge of structured COBOL programming techniques with general understanding of IMS and/or DB2 DBMS

Strong understanding of working with sequential data files, including packed numeric, binary, EBCDIC, ASCII and FTP

Knowledge of IBM z/OS operating environment, including JCL, TSO, ISPF, VSAM, SYNCSORT, Expediter, Insync and VISION:Results (DYL280)

Excellent problem-solving, team and time management skills

A Bachelor's computer science or information systems or the equivalent combination of education, training and work experience. 

Added bonus if you have:

Knowledge of FIS' products and services, specifically with Integrated Banking Systems (IBS) is preferred but not required.

Understanding of Unix operating system and Oracle DBMS.

Experience working in leveraged open system environments.
