Role purposeAs a New Product Introduction (NPI) Programme Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving our continued growth in this exciting sector. You will lead high-profile development programs from concept through to certification and into serial production. Your location will be at the GKN Fokker Aerospace B.V. site in Hoogeveen, The Netherlands
The Program manager is responsible for the execution of the business case and contract in line with requirements and the agreed scope. You will lead a high-performing, cross-functional integrated program team (IPT) comprising some of the most skilled experts from across GKN Aerospace’s global network, all dedicated to delivering world-class airframe solutions.
The NPI Programme Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating the IPT to execute the New Product Introduction (NPI) activities up to and including Lifecycle Gate 7 (steady state production launch), and in conjunction with Operations from Lifecycle Gate 7 and beyond. Furthermore, you will be responsible for leading the Change Control Board and ensuring smooth execution of all program changes in collaboration with the relevant stakeholders.
Supports the execution of the program (including changes) to comply with all the business case and contractual requirements for their products.
Responsible for leading and coordinating the IPT for executing the program, including changes in compliance with the business case and contracts, throughout the complete life cycle including: Delivery against all agreed customer milestones, Implementation, maintenance and reporting of relevant program performance KPI’s spanning all functional responsibilities, delivery of programme financial results in accordance with agreed budget and targets, responsibility for the proposal process of follow on work (including changes). Scheduling and chairing GKN internal Life Cycle Gates 3-7 reviews including and remedial activities identified and responsible for establishment of demand and performance handshake with Operations; Creates Program Improvement Plans including cost improvement, pricing initiatives, enable Zero Defects Manufacturing in close cooperation with Operations, redesign initiatives, gaining agreement with relevant stakeholders. Provides input to make, move, buy decisions and strategic procurement decisions. Supports the PD / VP in defining the vision, strategy, budget for the program to optimize cash flow, profitability and growth. Adheres to all program management standards and policies in accordance with the GKN Aerospace Program Management framework and contribute to process development. Actively executes Risk, Issue and Opportunity Management to control and mitigate the risk exposure and take advantage of opportunities. Responsible for updating Sales / Demand Plan and initiating demand management for serial purchase orders. Supports the PD/VP in preparing cost and pricing proposals in close cooperation with the commercial & contracts organization. Type of personA demonstrated track record of delivering NPI programmes to customer milestones against requirements, schedule and budget. Able to lead high performing teams, navigate challenges with customers and deliver results, whilst maintaining team morale and stakeholder alignment. Demonstrated interpersonal, negotiation, organizational and effective communication skills, including emotional intelligence.
Experience, skills and formal qualifications A recognized degree in engineering or aerospace related disciplines is mandatory, with further business related qualifications as desirable; Either completed or registered for acknowledged Program Management Certification; Experience within engineering; Must possess a comprehensive knowledge in all relevant functional disciplines and be proficient in the fundamentals of Programme Management, finance and LEAN principles. Ability to lead, coach and mentor highly skilled and experienced direct reports. Broad understanding and experience within the aerospace industry, its regulations and standards.
