The Role & What You Will Be Doing
The Pharmaceutical Facility Qualification Programme Manager is responsible for providing a project management approach and implantation for the managing the qualification and validation activities necessary to bring a newly built pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities into commercial operation. This role ensures that all aspects of facility qualification—including equipment, utilities, process validation, and regulatory compliance—are completed on time, within budget, and in alignment with business and regulatory requirements.
In addition, the incumbent will lead programme management of alternate source qualification programmes, New Product Introductions/Technical Transfers and equipment replacement qualification programmes.
The Programme Manager serves as the key interface between Engineering, Validation, Technical Operations, Quality, and Regulatory Affairs to ensure successful programme execution and providing visibility for senior leadership on execution progress, management of key metrics and risk identification

Programme Management: for facilities, equipment, utilities, computerized systems, alternate source qualifications, with clear and accessible programme overview and key metric visibility.
Qualification & Validation Management: provide project management approach that facilitates the execution of facility, equipment, and utility qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ) in accordance with GMP and regulatory expectations.
Regulatory & Compliance Oversight: Ensure facility readiness for regulatory inspections and approvals, including FDA, EMA, and other health authority requirements.
Cross-functional Coordination: Align efforts across Engineering, Validation, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain to ensure a seamless transition into commercial operations.
Risk & Issue Management: Identify potential qualification and validation risks and proactively develop mitigation strategies with relevant stakeholders to keep the project on track.
Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders.
Budget & Resource Management: Monitor project budgets, optimize resource allocation, and ensure cost-effective execution of programmes.
Operational Readiness & Handover: Develop and execute plans for training, process validation, and initial production batches to ensure the facility is prepared for GMP operations.
Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement best practices in facility qualification and validation to enhance efficiency and compliance.
About Your Skills & Experience
For this role, we’re looking for a candidate who has an effective combination of the following qualifications, skills and experiences:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, Project Management, or a related field.
Minimum 5 - 8 years of experience in pharmaceutical facility qualification, validation, or technical operations.
Strong knowledge of GMP, regulatory requirements, and facility and process validation practices.
Proven experience in project/programme management within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
PMP, PRINCE2, or similar project management certification is an advantage.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to manage complex qualification projects in a high-paced environment.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
