Job Title Program Specialist I Agency Tarleton State University Department Physical Therapy Proposed Minimum Salary Commensurate Job Location Stephenville, Texas Job Type Staff Job Description Under general supervision of the OTD and DPT Program Directors, the Program Specialist coordinates the planning, development, and implementation of the admissions and enrollment processes for the Doctor of Occupational Therapy and Doctor of Physical Therapy programs. This position provides support for recruitment, outreach, and marketing activities, assists with admissions processes, maintains departmental communications, and ensures compliance with admissions-related standards. Additional administrative and program support tasks may be required. Serves as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) This is a full-time, in-person position located on Tarleton’s main campus in Stephenville, Texas. Work hours are Monday to Friday; 8 AM-5 PM or as work requirements indicate. Some evenings and weekends may be required pending scheduled activities. Responsibilities 65% Provide Information Regarding OTD and DPT Prospective Programs: + Provides directions to prospective students in admission requirements. + Coordinates the admissions process, including maintaining and managing applications via OTCAS and PTCAS. + Communicates with prospective students, applicants, and faculty reviewers to ensure timely processing of applications and adherence to deadlines. + Assists in organizing and conducting admissions events such as open houses, interviews, and orientation. + Develops and implements outreach and recruitment strategies, including partnerships with pre-professional clubs, undergraduate programs, high school and community organizations. + Develops and updates program marketing materials, including brochures, presentations, and the department’s website. + Facilitates inquiries from students, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders, providing accurate information or directing inquiries appropriately. 20% Provide Academic Support to Prospective and Current Students: + Verify completion of prerequisite and degree requirements. + Acting as a liaison between the academic programs, Centralized Application Services (CAS), and the College of Graduate Studies (COGS). + Collaborating with campus units to connect applicants with academic, financial, and support resources. 10% Collaboration with Committees and Staff for Program Evaluation + Prepares reports and analyzes data related to admissions trends and enrollment goals. + Create and maintain database of prospective learners. 5% Other Responsibilities: + Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements: Education and Experience: + Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience. + No Experience Necessary. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: + Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications. Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills. + Strong interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills. Maintains attention to detail and utilizes sound judgment. Preferred Education and Experience: + Familiarity with centralized applications services and/or admissions processes in higher education. Salary Commensurate with experience Salary Range The target base annual salary range is $41,000 to $50,761 and may be negotiable based on funding availability and candidate experience/skillset in relation to the minimum requirements of this position.
