Job Overview
+ The program specialist manages assigned grant programs from program development through application review , award decisions and financial disbursement.
+ Ability to prioritize workload, must be highly organized, detail-oriented, handle various tasks simultaneously and work independently within limited time constrains
+ Must be able to maintain confidentiality and deal effectively and diplomatically with external entrepreneurs and EDA staff
Responsibilities
Duties
Daily Tasks and Responsibilities:
+ Work with the EDA CRM system to ensure that applicants to the CSIT pro g ram s are entered into CRM with all required information fields . Reviews and prepar s notification of missing documentation to applicants.
+ Analyze demographic data on applicants and awardees to CSIT grant programs
+ Assists in the preparation of CSIT Program Committee and Board presentations
Projects:
+ Candidate support various CSIT programs including SBIR/STTR, Clean Tech and Catalyst R &D Voucher Grants, Clean Tech R&D Seed Grant
+ Candidate will update compliance tracker and metric data for programs and as necessary follow up with applicants on reporting
Goals and Objectives:
+ Candidate will meet deadlines for working with CRM and ensure that applicant data is entered into the system in a timely fashion and applicants receive feedback on the status of their applications
Collaboration and Cross-Divisional Interaction:
+ Promotes teamwork and communication to encourage an interactive, cooperative, collaborative, and customer focused work environment among division, EDA staff, and external customers.
Reporting Structure:
+ Reports to CSIT Executive Director and works closely with other CSIT staff members
+ Must complete annual self-assessment as required .
+ Perform s other duties and special projects, as assigned.
Qualifications
Skills and Qualifications
Soft Skills:
+ Advanced skills in research, writing, organization, and data entry
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills and stakeholder relationship management skills
+ Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
Education:
+ B achelors Degr ee with an emphasis in science, technology, economics, policy or public administration
+ Advanced degree or industry specific certification may be substituted for 1 year of experience
Software/Tools Proficiency:
+ Ability to learn new softw a re tools including NJEDA CRM platform
+ NJEDA utilizes Microsoft as the core application platform and proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite is preferred. 
Additional Information
+ Minimal physical demands and ability to work out side normal business hours
+ Travel expected when necessary for business operations
Certificates and Licenses Required
+ Staff are required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essentials duties of the position .

Position Requirements
+ Foreign degrees/transcripts must be evaluated by a reputable evaluation service at your own expense and must be submitted prior to a start date . If this cannot be provided within 21 days of an offer the offer will be rescinded.
