Program Procurement Lead for Europe – Sr Manager

Mission of the Role:

This role champions leadership in direct material procurement, orchestrating value from commodity purchasing and other cross-functional teams to secure new business wins for Visteon and ensure flawless launch execution. The mission is also to provide leadership to the entire purchasing team (including providing regional leadership to the commodity teams) and play a strategic role in helping to drive actions towards profitable businesses.

Key objectives of this Role:

Lead and develop the Europe program purchasing team into a high-performance team that strives to find innovative and cost-effective solutions, maximizing Visteon revenue through new business wins. Also, to help improve profitability on awarded projects. Be the voice of Europe program, Purchasing to the leadership and cross-functional teams Lead the team to drive early engagement with key stakeholders to achieve a competitive BOM cost and work towards a design-to-cost approach that meets customer targets and exceeds them. Drive for on-time costed BOM submissions for new business pursuits and forward model, and ensure quote robustness across the product life cycle. Spearhead efforts in purchasing together with commodity teams on cost initiatives related to new technologies (display, electrification, high-performance compute, etc) and Product Line development actions. Pro-actively work with sales, Product Line groups, and commodity teams, challenge assumptions, and drive for the optimized costs that would lead to competitive costed BOMs that secure new business wins at the targeted margins. Drive overall strategies of the organization to ensure cost savings through all phases of program development (procurement and supply chain perspective): Work with program and commodity teams for the implementation of new cost reduction ideas Concept Development and influence make vs buy decisions Costed BOM analysis with a total landed cost view, including supply chain cost influencers Product Development recommendations based on market trends Commercialization and industrialization Drive for a positive business equation for the organization (Sales and purchasing) Work closely with Product Development in developing “design for sourcing” strategies Material Margin focus: Drive PDM (price decision matrix) approach with commodity teams to target on-time sourcing to better the prices considered at the award stage Drive for actions on BOM cost and other commercial elements that help improve cash flow at a project stage Drive cross-functional Sourcing Boards for alignment and final sourcing approvals, meeting project milestones and commercial expectations Drive and ensure customer group expectations in different regions, ensuring program profitability Lead efforts with cross-commodity teams to drive for localization initiative, supplier sourcing strategies with the “total landed cost “approach during the pursuit and sourcing phase

Key year one deliverables

Timely Procurement Management: Ensure the punctual procurement of all necessary components and services required for new product introductions. Cost Optimization & Commitment: Collaborate with relevant teams to achieve Bill of Material (BOM) cost targets, aiming for continuous improvement and stretch goals on future projects. Team Leadership & Development: Guide and develop team members to foster a proactive, high-performing, and collaborative environment focused on anticipating and mitigating risks for successful project execution.

 

Qualification, Experience, and Skills:

Bachelor’s Degree with Master's degree (preferred), Electrical Engineering preferred Around 12-15 years in responsible roles within an international business environment, and procurement/purchasing lead experience Strong knowledge of the supply base and costing of various commodities Ability to present sourcing strategy for projects and risk assessments Ability to lead cross-functional teams with focus and accountability. Effective negotiation skills Value Chain analysis (VAVE, TQCM) mindset Effective presentation skills and Strong communication skills Knowledge about the EV market and suppliers to support the EV Product portfolio. Ability to balance risk and achieve the lowest material cost within very tight deadlines
