Job Description

Primary Responsibilities

Designs and facilitates training sessions for mentors across various academic programs and service modelsCollaborates with Mentor Operations teams to align training with performance and quality expectationsDevelops and organizes training materials, resources, and certification modulesSupports ongoing improvement of mentor training through feedback, assessments, and learning analyticsStays current with mentoring best practices and translates industry trends into impactful learning experiencesPartners with Mentor Strategy & Operations leaders to ensure consistent and relevant mentor developmentParticipates in team meetings, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous learning initiatives.Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong facilitation and presentation skills for both virtual and in-person trainingAbility to create inclusive and engaging learning environmentsStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport across diverse populationsProficiency in written and verbal communicationAbility to work independently and meet deadlines with minimal supervisionMust maintain confidentiality and comply with FERPA and WGU policiesAdaptability to work in a dynamic, remote-first environmentAbility to provide excellent service to internal stakeholders and learnersAvailability to travel for summits or training retreats (up to 25%).
 

Education          

Bachelor’s degree required.

Experience

3 years of experience in training; experience developing and delivering training involving complex subject matter.Experience with CRMs, learning platforms, or learning management systems (LMS).

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree preferred.Experience in coaching, mentoring, or adult learningCertifications in training or coaching (e.g., Prosci, Instructional Design, Trainer Certification)Experience designing e-learning content

Physical Requirements:

Remote work with standard office equipment useOccasional travel required (e.g., WGU Summits, mentor retreats)Requires prolonged sitting, concentration, and interaction via virtual platformsReasonable accommodations provided for individuals with hearing or visual impairmentsProlonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Position & Application Details
