Program Manager - Way Back Support Service

About the Role

Your role as the Way Back Support Service Program Manager you will lead a small team delivering holistic non-clinical, follow-up care, practical support, and assertive outreach to individuals for three months following a suicide attempt. This role is responsible for program establishment, partnership development and ongoing operational management of the service.

Key Role Accountabilities:

Lead the establishment of the program as per the service model including recruitment and onboarding and referral pathway development.Manage and lead a small team including basic human resource management, training and/or coaching to enhance performance development.Carry a small caseload of clients with complex needs.Provide ongoing monitoring of caseload management ensuring effective, quality service delivery and demand management.Lead, develop, implement and evaluate delivery of the WBSS program in the PHN area.Ensure the program meets the key deliverables as determined by the funding agreement.Build strong and effective relationships with the local mental health sector and key internal and external stakeholders including the local Hospital and Health Service.Ensure implementation is guided by a clinical governance framework in consultation with the Manager - Suicide Prevention Services, including risk management processes.Undertake funding contract data reporting and monitoring including all required data entry into the specific data platform in preparation for upload into Department of Health Primary Mental Health Care Minimum Dataset.Oversee, record and action any complaints, compliments and feedback received regarding the program, escalating to the Mental Health Services and Practice Manager where required.

About You

Degree level qualification in human services or another relevant field.Demonstrated significant experience working in human services at a management level.Demonstrated experience in successfully managing a program which includes workforce management and budget implementation.Demonstrated ability to apply risk management strategies within a program establishment and project-based context.Ability to think laterally to identify opportunities for improvement in order to streamline and manage business and customer needs.Advanced interpersonal skills including the ability to facilitate, negotiate and consult with a diverse range of stakeholders.Demonstrated experience and the ability to manage all aspects of the human resource functions of the team including, supervision, performance development and management and team building.Demonstrate a customer-centric focus, with the ability to analyse, problem solve and collaborate a solution with clients and stakeholders.Display empathy, a sense of calm whilst being proactive and responsive when communicating with diverse client groups.Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage competing tasks effectively and efficiently, whilst maintaining high level attention to detail.Intermediate computers skills – Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and Customer Relationships Management systems.

Desirable:

Management experience in mental health specific fieldDegree level qualifications in a clinical field i.e., Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Nursing or Social Work
