Program Manager I, Environmental Metrics Accounting, Google Sustainability

Minimum qualifications: + Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. + 1 year of experience in program or project management. + Experience with the Greenhouse Gas (GHS) Protocol and methodologies (e.g., Economic Input-Output, Life cycle assessment (LCA), etc). + Experience in greenhouse gas accounting, life cycle assessment, or environmental metrics accounting. Preferred qualifications: + Experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects. + Experience with three accounting methodologies: data collection, analysis, and assurance. + Experience with data, analysis, and operational details. + Experience in environmental metrics accounting (e.g., GHG, water, waste) and developing corporate inventories. + Ability to collaborate, organize, and align towards execution. As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines. In this role, you will generate insights that shape strategic directions, enhance performance against goals, and support transparency through external disclosures. The Global Sustainability team enables Google to build a more sustainable future for everyone by driving strategy and solutions. We drive the development and implementation of Google’s global sustainability strategy to further empower action, ensure alignment and prioritization, identify leadership opportunities, and mitigate risks. We drive sustainability strategy and programs on carbon, circular economy, water, product integration, reporting, and employee engagement, while serving as a sustainability leadership advocate internally and externally. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $105,000-$151,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Learn more about benefits at Google (https://careers.google.com/benefits/) . + Determine and collect data required to execute and govern programs, maintain project trackers and status reports, and identify and execute on program tasks including managing dependencies. + Support Google’s annual corporate environmental metric accounting program, including greenhouse gas (GHG), water, or other relevant sustainability metrics. + Support process and controls development and implementation, including maintaining documentation and annual third-party assurance. + Interpret the Greenhouse Gas Protocol and other frameworks to identify and address challenges related to data collection, emissions accounting, and reporting.
