Purpose

This position will serve as the Hub Coordinator for the Innovation Corps (I-Corps) Hub Southwest (SW) Region at UT Austin and will report directly to the SW Hub Executive Director. UT Austin serves as the lead institution and oversees eight Partner institutions in five states in the SW region. The Hub Coordinator will play a key role in advancing innovation and entrepreneurship across the Southwest region by supporting researchers in translating their discoveries into real-world impact.

I-Corps responsibilities: Manage day to day communications with Partner institutions for the I-Corps program to ensure program execution. Recruit and instruct at regional and national commercialization programs, and provide logistics as needed to deploy programs. Manage the CRM and organize data and outcome collection for reporting purposes. Develop and implement new curricula and outreach strategies. Work closely with the I-Corps Hub Director to ensure all I-Corps program requirements are accomplished and reported on as required.

ResponsibilitiesRecruit and instruct for regional I-Corps commercialization programs and assist in new curricula development and recruitment strategies. Provide logistics support as needed for regional programs (virtual and/or in-person). Assist regional teams in national application and interview preparation. Conduct outreach and information sessions across the region.Manage SW I-Corps regional partner relations and program execution to ensure regional programs are identified, organized and implemented as planned to meet NSF and SW Hub expectations, including supporting the Hub Director with managing multiple governing committees, coordinating with Faculty Leads throughout the Hub regarding progress reports and data management, overseeing marketing coordinator’s Hub-wide marketing and outreach, and convening the Hub partner institutions. Assist UT Austin and other SW Hub teams in identifying mentors as needed for national program participation.Manage the I-Corps CRM, train partner institutions on its use, and coordinate with the Data Collection and Analysis Team to provide timely data for reporting purposes.Manage Purchase Order creation and invoice payment for consultants and other Hub needs.Other duties as assigned by the NSF I-Corps Southwest Hub Executive Director.

Required QualificationsBachelor's Degree. Minimum two years’ experience in commercialization and entrepreneurship programs in higher education.Experience instructing on early-stage commercialization.Program management experience.Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environment. Strong computer skills. Strong communication skills.Knowledge of the technology commercialization process within university systems.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred QualificationsExperience founding or working with startups.Demonstrated knowledge of the federal grant system.Experience recruiting and instructing for the I-Corps program.Experience developing and managing sizable public/private partnerships.Ability to manage databases and CRMs.Ability to establish and maintain professional working relationship with multiple institutions across the country.

Salary Range

$80,000+ depending on qualifications

Retirement Plan Eligibility:

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
