Program Manager, Transportation Synergy Initiatives
Job Description SummaryPosition Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and strategic Program Manager, Transportation Synergy Initiatives to partner on focused transportation activities across multiple business units (BUs). This role will be responsible for coordinating select cross BU transportation initiatives with BU Logistics Sourcing teams, building on key best practices to implement unified transportation spend analytics tools, transportation supplier scorecards and dashboards, and facilitating council coordination activities. The ideal candidate will have strong program management skills, experience in transportation purchasing and operations, and the ability to collaborate across diverse teams to deliver impactful results.

Key Responsibilities

Global Shipper Negotiations & Logistics

Support BU Logistics Sourcing teams by facilitating cross-BU Global Shipper Association (GSA) negotiation tollgate discussions to help align cross-BU approach and synergies, focusing opportunities to enable the greatest transportation services buying power for the businesses. Use cross-BU analytics to align with BUs on negotiation strategies for each GSA negotiation

Analytics & Spend Optimization

Facilitate the implementation of aligned transportation analytic tools to support consistent data interpretation and enable spend visibility across business units.Partner with IT and designated BU Logistics Sourcing team members to use AI to develop predictive models to forecast shipments costs across all modes and lanes.Work with BU Logistics Sourcing teams to build dashboards and reporting mechanisms that facilitate transportation decision-making.Identify best solutions and manage contracts for transportation market cost analytic tools for the BUs i.e. Xeneta, Freightos, Drewry, etc. 

Process Improvement & Additional Initiatives

Partner with BUs for data collection related to emerging transportation risks, transportation sustainability requirements, etc. and their related impacts.Support initiatives for identification of software / tools that can be implemented with the BUs to optimize transportation load build plans and lane budling within RFQs. 

Synergy & Strategy

Serve as the primary coordinator and facilitator of Logistics Council Meetings, ensuring agenda alignment and managing key initiatives.  Initiatives could include special projects such as supplier paid to GE Vernova paid logistics, storage/warehousing optimization, cross-BU supplier scorecard, leading strategic supplier meetings, etc.Support the execution of select best practices that enable standardization across specific transportation sourcing functions.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics and Transportation, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred).10+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, and program management, preferably in a multi-business unit or multinational environment with a 3PL or 4PL.Proven experience in leading large scale transportation sourcing activities, transportation analytics, and process improvement.Strong data analysis skills (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Excel, SQL).Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and say-do rationAbility to facilitate cross-functional collaboration and support team to deliver on multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Ability to communicate complex information efficiently based on audience needsDemonstrated ability to use knowledge, experience and instinct to make accurate and timely decisionsDemonstrated ability of working with all levels of internal and external organizationsDemonstrated ability to implement simple, fast and non-bureaucratic process improvementsExperience in working with global teams and demonstrates a global mindsetExcellent verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrated leadership experience

Location & Travel

This position can be remote/hybrid.Up to 25% travel for RFQ negotiations, supplier meetings and Logistics Council engagements.
