Description
Amazon’s European Transportation team is responsible for our transportation network’s connectivity across Europe to deliver billions of shipments each year. We collaborate with multiple internal teams (e.g. Transportation Design, Supply Chain, External Fulfillment, Tech, etc) to ensure a speedy and reliable customer delivery in the cheapest way possible.
As a Transportation Program Manager, you will be part of the Operations team owning the setup of the systems that decide how shipments move in the Amazon outbound network. You will act as a bridge between business, network design and tech teams to ensure transportation systems are set up in line with the strategic transportation network plan.
You will develop strong knowledge of Amazon Transportation systems and you will be responsible for understanding your customers’ business needs and providing optimal system solutions. Managing a wide range of stakeholders, you will plan, communicate and execute the implementation of network changes in such systems, ensuring that they are set with the correct parameters. Acting as a subject-matter expert, you will apply dive deep and analytical skills to find the root cause of impactful issues and solve them, while driving long term standardization and automation initiatives to improve systems and team efficiency.
The position is based in Luxembourg.
Key job responsibilities
- Create and manage the system framework supporting Amazon transportation network
- Work with business and tech teams to define how to implement network change requests to ensure transportation systems are set up in line with the strategic transportation network plan
- Deliver solutions to support our business and operations
- Deep dive into data and issues to drive short term fixes and long-term improvements
- Deliver results through extensive cross functional integration with multiple internal teams
- Drive long term standardization and automation initiatives to improve systems and team efficiency
- Collect and analyze data to drive decisions and provide business insights
- Run meetings with partner teams to track progress, implement new initiatives, and improve existing programs
- Create project plans and manage the implementation through various phases
A day in the life
Every day is different as a Program Manager. You’ll work both independently and collaboratively to deliver solutions for your customers. You will implement changes, collaborate with other teams, track project progress, and share updates with key stakeholders.
About the team
EU STEP brings together Supply Chain, Network Design, and Transportation Planning teams to improve end-to-end forecasting, network flow, planning, and execution. It also brings together our teams from across the business focused on our Operational Excellence pillars - Amazon Customer Excellence Systems (ACES), Learning, Quality, Service, Sustainability and Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) Field teams. This integration strengthens operations and execution while driving quality improvements and enhanced customer experience across the entire value chain.
You will join a sub-team with Transportation Network Configuration team that supports our business and operations to keep the transportation network running and growing.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL
- Experience in program or project management
- Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
- Experience in defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Experience leading process improvements
- Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
- Experience building processes, project management, and schedules
