The Role

We are seeking a seasoned delivery leader to drive complex infrastructure transformation programs, with a focus on VMware to Hyper-V migration, end-to-end transition and transformation (T&T), and ongoing AMS and database support. This role requires deep technical expertise, strategic leadership, and operational excellence to ensure seamless delivery across hybrid environments.

As a Program Manager, you will lead the end-to-end execution of a strategic infrastructure transformation project to migrate all workloads across NEA, EAP, IR, DPS, and HDCC from VMware to Hyper-V, overseeing phases from discovery and planning through execution and hyper care. This role also includes managing VMware hyper care security services during migration, ensuring timely identification and mitigation of security risks, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, efficient, and compliant migration outcomes.

Essential Skills, Duties & Responsibilities: 

Communicate complex issues to stakeholders with recommendations on the path forward.

Allocate resources appropriately to meet program needs and minimize resource contention

Coordinate stakeholder meetings to ensure all parties understand the deliveries and milestones and the resources that are assigned

Facilitate/manage solution Maturing phase of the project by working with design/solution team

Develop detailed implementation plans using MS Project or Account specific tool

Conduct Project Definition Workshops with all the stakeholders and produce the written report - Project Definition Report

Work with various delivery teams to ensure that all relevant teams within Kyndryl and alliance teams/sub-contractors are engaged during implementation

Should be well versed with project management domains: Initiating, planning, executing, controlling and closing

Lead a project team in delivering a solution to the customer and should have overall performance responsibility for managing scope, cost, schedule, and contractual deliverable, which includes applying techniques for planning, tracking, change control, and risk management

Manage all project resources and establish an effective communication plan with the project team and the customer and provide day to day directions to the project team and regular project status to the customer

Oversee all aspects of projects. Set deadlines, assign responsibilities and monitor and summarize progress of project. Prepare reports for upper management regarding status of project

Required Skills, Experience and Circumstances:

Minimum 10+ years of IT delivery experience, with at least 5 years in an indirect leadership role managing large-scale infrastructure or cloud transformation programs.

Proven experience with VMware, Hyper-V, OpenShift, or similar virtualization platforms.

Strong understanding of AMS delivery models and database technologies (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL).

Experience with hyperscaler platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).

Familiarity with containerization (e.g., VMware Tanzu, Kubernetes) and DevOps practices

Ability to be onsite Midland, MI, three days a week as needed.

Ability to collect technical inputs from subject matter experts and create solutions to drive aggressive timelines

Leadership competencies for team building, client relations, negotiation, decision making, problem solving and conflict management

Proven project management skill and an ability to navigate fast paced and rapidly evolving environments, 

Knowledge of current Project Management methodologies

Strong working knowledge of project-planning tools like MS Project, MS Excel, MS Power point

Experience in leading project teams across different countries and cultures.

Proven ability to learn and grasp concepts quickly in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and financial acumen.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree

ITIL, PMP, or equivalent certifications

Proficient in Agile methodology with an ability to adapt quickly to changing technology requirements

You love collaborative environments that use agile methodologies to encourage creative design thinking and find innovative ways to develop cutting edge technologies

Ambitious individual who can work under their own direction towards agreed targets/goals and with a creative approach to work

Intuitive individual with an ability to manage change and proven time management

Compensation

The compensation range for the position in the U.S. is $120,360 to $228,840 based on a full-time schedule.  Your actual compensation may vary depending on your geography, job-related skills and experience.  For part-time roles, the compensation will be adjusted appropriately. The pay or salary range will not be below any applicable state, city or local minimum wage requirement.

There is a different applicable compensation range for the following work locations:

California: $132,480 to $274,560 

Colorado: $120,360 to $228,840 

New York City: $144,480 to $274,560 

Washington: $132,480 to $251,640 

Washington DC: $132,480 to $251,640 

  

This position will be eligible for Kyndryl’s discretionary annual bonus program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Kyndryl’s applicable plans. You may also receive a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical and dental coverage, disability, retirement benefits, paid leave, and paid time off.  Note: If this is a sales commission eligible role, you will be eligible to participate in a sales commission plan in lieu of the annual discretionary bonus program.
