UPMC Corporate Legal is hiring a Program Manager, Audit and Compliance for Disability and Civil Rights. This role will work Monday through Friday during business hours in Oakland.
This individual will be Coordinating compliance with civil rights laws, regulations and standards including but not limited to Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act, and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act. The role will lead systemwide facility evaluation for ADA compliance, recommend accessible solutions, monitor construction and remediation plans, track expenses related to accessibility, and develop training programs for staff. As well as promoting accessibility in all aspects of healthcare facilities operations. Serve as a subject matter expert on disability accommodation and compliance issues for the UPMC Health System.
The position will focus on work over Construction, architecture design, as well as maintenance and facilities. If you have prior experience in these fields, this could be the job for you!
Responsibilities:
Communicate and design implementation protocols for managing accessibility for the system in collaboration with Corporate Real Estate, Construction Management, Planning & Design, Computer-aided Facilities Management, and Facilities & Maintenance. Explain complex legal topics or regulations specific to healthcare in simplified language through various forms of communication. Create training materials on civil rights, accessibility and ADA compliance for staff at all levels. Lead compliance audits and grievance investigations; develop materials to identify civil rights and accessibility issues in facilities. Monitor and provide technical assistance for disability accommodations. Identify trends and opportunities for process improvements in civil rights and accessibility compliance. Liaise with UPMC Corporate and clinical departments on accessibility requirements and compliance. Evaluate facilities for compliance, including measuring accessible routes and equipment. Review design and construction plans for ADA compliance. Develop compliance reports and track progress on accessibility goals. Collaborate with various departments to manage expenses related to accessibility.
