Job Description

Are you a detail-oriented student with a passion for finance and a desire to gain hands-on experience in commodity settlements? Pilot Company is seeking a Commodity Settlements Intern for the summer of 2026. This is a unique opportunity to directly support our financial operations by assisting with daily, weekly, and monthly settlements for Brokerage and Terminals at our Houston energy office at Greenway Plaza.

In this role, you'll be an integral part of our team, tackling key responsibilities that directly impact our financial accuracy and efficiency. Your work will involve resolving invoice discrepancies, generating cash forecasting reports, and collaborating with internal and external teams. You'll gain valuable experience in a fast-paced environment and have the chance to identify and implement process improvements.

What You'll Do

Your responsibilities may include:

Settlements and Reconciliation: Assist with daily, weekly, and monthly settlements and resolve invoice reconciliation discrepancies with external and internal teams.Reporting: Generate invoicing statements and reports for cash forecasting to support the settlements manager and accounting team.Process Improvement: Identify, recommend, and help implement process improvements for commodity settlement and accounting activities.Collaboration: Work closely with traders, position managers, and other counterparties to build strong working relationships.Financial Analysis: Review payment schedules, fees, rates, and contract details to ensure accuracy and timely payments.

QualificationsEducation: You should be a student pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a business-related field.Technical Skills: Intermediate Microsoft Office skills are required, with advanced skills preferred. Experience with Right Angle or other Commodities Trading and Risk Management (CTRM) software is a plus.Soft Skills: You must have strong attention to detail, and excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. You should also be able to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work both independently and as part of a team.Qualities: We value individuals who are driven, reliable, authentic, and welcoming. You should also have a willingness to learn and embrace new technologies.

This internship is a paid, full-time program, running from June 1 through August 6, 2026.
