Mission of the Role:
Driving program procurement toward projects health and success.
Key objectives of this Role:
• Drive overall strategies of the organization to ensure cost savings through all phases of program development (procurement and supply chain perspective):
o Idea Generation and Screening
o Concept Development and influence make vs buy decisions
o Costed BOM analysis
o Product Development recommendations based on market trends
o Commercialization and industrialization (Regional Level)
o Drive for positive business equation for the organization (Sales and purchasing)
• Drive PDM (price decision making) approach and target on-time cost at BOM
• Drive cross functional Sourcing Boards for alignment and final sourcing approvals meeting project milestones and commercial expectations
• Drive an early engagement to arrive at a competitive cost and work towards design to cost (a bottom-up focused approach)
• Drive on-time BOM with the required specification based on market nuances
• Drive and ensure customer group expectations in different regions ensuring program profitability
• Lead efforts to drive localization and best country supplier sourcing strategies with the “total landed cost“ approach during the pursuit and sourcing phase
• Work closely with Product Development in developing “design for sourcing” strategies
• Risk assessment and anticipate potential issues in project execution and evolve resolution plans working with project management teams
Key Performance Indicators:
• Secure New business wins with competitive costed BOMs
• Drive for early platform based design solutions to help achieve above
• Flawless execution of new product launches
• Drive for profitable businesses and improve material margins
Key Year One Deliverables:
• Completed Team integration.
• Handling daily activities following Visteon process – No NC records in Audits
• Supporting 4-6 projects in forward model phase
• Identifying 2 items as potential for improvements
Qualification, Experience and Skills:
• Bachelor’s Degree, Master preferred, Electrical Engineering preferred
• 5-7 yrs in responsible roles within an international business environment and procurement/purchasing lead experience
• Strong knowledge of supply base and costing of various commodities
• Ability to clearly present sourcing strategy for projects and risk assessments
• Ability to lead and challenge cross functional teams with focus and accountability.
• Effective negotiation skills
• Drive Value Chain analysis (VAVE, TQCM)
• Effective presentation skills and Strong communication skills
• Knowledge about EV market and suppliers to support EV Product portfolios .
• Ability to balance risk and achieve lowest material cost within very tight deadlines
