Program Financial Control Manager

In this position... 

We're looking for a detailed and experienced Program Financial Control Supervisor. This role oversees the financial health of critical programs and projects, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and control from start to finish. You'll manage financial data in key systems, drive process improvements, lead a team of financial control analysts, and champion technology modernization and automation. You'll also use financial insights to help other GME functions and communicate effectively with senior leadership, including executive-level presence and writing. If you combine deep financial and analytical expertise with manufacturing knowledge, tech savviness, and strong communication/leadership skills, this is for you.

 

What you'll do...

Controlling Program Financials:

Review & approve program/project creation (milestones, financials), set up in PFR2 (funding, WERS Concerns). Structure projects: Align Skill Teams/Subsystems with intent, monitor funding vs. authorization/commitments. Create/Streamline Line Items: Link program to accounting rules, coach teams for efficiency. Ensure Purchase Order/Receipt Compliance: Review all transactions against accounting rules, coach teams, troubleshoot errors. Manage & Troubleshoot Systems (PFR2, FinDash, iERP, Aurora): Manage project financials, coach users, optimize tools, track PFR2 Issue Resolution KPIs.

Driving Process Improvements & Efficiency:

Identify cost-saving opportunities & optimize administrative processes (including automation). Identify opportunities to assist other GME functions. Maintain strong internal controls for spending.

Ensuring Compliance & Policy:

Ensure financial compliance (accounting, tax, policy). Contribute to policy development/implementation. Support internal/external audits.

Strategic Benchmarking & Data Initiatives:

Help build the Business Process for Identifying Internal Benchmarking Metrics. Maintain an Internal Best-Practices Library, linked to tools like the Best in Ford Dashboard. Use benchmarking data and analytical skills to provide insights that drive improvement across GME.

Fostering Collaboration & Communication:

Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance & Engineering. Communicate financial information effectively to all stakeholders, including executive presentations and written reports. Maintain Customer Problem Resolution Guide for user support.

Leading & Developing Your Team:

Supervise, guide, & monitor financial control analysts. Manage team performance (reviews, goals, feedback, development). Foster teamwork & manage workload.

Leveraging Technology & Systems:

Utilize ERP/Financial Systems (Aurora, PFR2, iERP, FinDash). Use Data Analysis Tools (Dashboards) for insights. Oversee Key Business Tool Modernization (planning, allocation tools). Ensure data security.

You'll have... 

Accounting or Business Degree ((Bachelor’s level degree with 8 years of experience or master’s degree with 5 years of experience)) Experience applying the Core Expertise and Essential Skills. Direct experience with program/project financial control processes (approval, setup, PO/receipt review, system management). Experience using financial data for broader organizational insights. Experience with ERP/financial systems; specific experience with PFR2, FinDash, iERP, and Aurora is highly advantageous. Experience with KPIs and user documentation (creating/maintaining guides). Experience with process improvement, automation, or tool modernization projects. Ability to communicate and write effectively for executive audiences.

Even better, you may have...

Strategic manufacturing/engineering finance experience. Experience managing tool modernization/automation projects. Relevant certifications (CPA, CMA, PMP). Prior experience in a supervisory role.
