Job Summary:
Responsible for overseeing and ensuring the effective delivery of all clinical services. Manages day-to-day clinical functions, working closely with organizational leadership and aligning services with regulatory standards and accreditation bodies to meet client needs.
Essential Job Functions:
Program Compliance and Standards: Ensures clinical programs adhere to organizational policies and meet certification standards (e.g. CARF, DMH) related quality and clinical care.
Leadership and Staff Development: Develops Clinical Supervisors and staff promoting high-quality, evidence-based care. Drives the professional growth of the clinical team through mentoring and coaching, ensuring alignment with the organization’s mission and vision.
Service Oversight: Monitors service delivery ensuring appropriate levels of care, verifies that services provided are justified, and reviews team members performance related service hours and clinical outcomes.
Clinical Supervision: Provides direct supervision to assigned clinical team members, identifying areas for improvement and addressing performance issues promptly. Documents supervision and provides feedback for continuous improvement.
Resource Management: Optimizes clinical resources maintaining cost-effective care. Seeks opportunities enhancing revenue streams and minimize expenses while maintaining high standards of care.
Client Advocacy: Acts as a strong advocate for clients, ensuring their needs are addressed both within and outside of the organization.
Collaboration: Works closely with Compliance Revenue Cycle, Quality Improvement (QI), and administrative teams resolving program-related issues. Ensures clinical practices are aligned with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
Clinical Competency Development: Develops and enhances the clinical competencies of team leaders ensuring the effectiveness of interventions and the achievement of program objectives.
Problem Solving and Issue Resolution: Collaborates with Regional Directors in addressing clinical issues and escalating significant concerns to Executive Leadership. Ensures the clinical program is performing efficiently and effectively.
Quality Assurance: Conducts regular record reviews to ensure compliance with accreditation standards, program policies, and QI indicators. Identifies and resolves any deficiencies in clinical records.
Other duties: Performs additional tasks assigned supporting the overall clinical operations and organizational goals.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Thorough knowledge of clinical best practices and techniques related to mental health and substance use disorder treatment services.
Knowledge of policies, procedures and regulations for programs.
Skilled in effective supervision and training methods and principles.
Aptitude to develop, coordinate, and evaluate services and implement prompt corrective action.
Demonstrate corporate vision and values in day-to-day activities.
Demonstrate working knowledge of diagnostic criteria set for substance use and mental health disorders.
Experience and Education Qualifications:
Graduate from an accredited college or university with a Master’s Degree in social work, counseling, psychology, psychiatric nursing, or closely related field
Three years or more of professional experience in behavioral healthcare or rehabilitation of substance use disorder and one year of supervisory experience in substance use treatment.
Capable of conducting analytical evaluations and communicating with leadership and other program stakeholders.
Meet the requirements to be a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) or Qualified Addiction Professional (QAP).
Preference given to candidates who are fully licensed as a social worker in the state employed, such as holding an LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) or equivalent state licensure.
Supervisory Requirements:
Communicate the strategic direction of the organization and encourage participation by all team members.
Provide leadership and guidance to all aspects of the department.
Take an active role in monitoring the identification, development, and execution of strategic objectives.
Involve, as appropriate, all team members to achieve goals.
Effectively communicate to team members any changes and newsworthy events within the department or company.
Handle difficult team member situations directly, using appropriate discretion and Human Resource advice to show respect for the individual
Champion change and effectively manage the implementation of new ideas.
Reinforces team approach throughout functions; support and solicit input from team members at all levels within the company.
Employment Requirements:
Successful completion of background check including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect and fingerprint check.
Completion of New Hire Orientation at the beginning of employment.
All training requirements including Relias at the beginning of employment and annually thereafter.
Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record and current auto insurance.
Physical Requirements:
ADA Consideration - Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (exists up the 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (exists 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, or pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Repetitive movements of hands, fingers, and arms for typing and/or writing during work shift.
Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
