What we want The Program Director, under general direction, directs the administration of assigned programs, including planning, organizing, staffing, leading, and controlling program activities. What you need to know Salary: will be commensurate based on the selected hire’s education and experience. Other: Must maintain participation in the VET deployment health and fitness qualification program administered by the Biosafety and Occupational Health Program. Qualifications Required Education + Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience. + Ten years of experience in logistics, deployment, emergency response or related areas. Required Licenses and Certifications + Must have a Class A or B driver’s license or ability to obtain one within six months of employment. Must be able to handle multiple equipment types (Box truck, Gooseneck and bumper pull trailers, and a forklift). Preferred Qualifications + Bachelor’s degree in applicable field. + Two years of experience in a first responder medical or veterinary medical organization. + Experience managing first responder equipment. + Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications. + Strong verbal and written communication skills. + Familiarity with emergency management reimbursement process. + Familiarity with emergency management accountability procedures. + Participate in deployments of the VET. This will require long hours in stressful situations. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities + Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others. + Familiarity with Excel and other Microsoft programs. + Basic mechanical aptitude consistent with performance of maintenance functions. Responsibilities Program Management and Leadership + Develops program strategic plans, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures. + Ensures program objectives are met. + Directs and supervises program staff. + Evaluates program procedures and performance reports. + Develops and implements preparedness and response operational strategies. Budget and Resource Management + Identifies and secures program funding and expansion resources. + Develops, oversees, and approves program budgets. + Analyzes program statistics for reporting, tracking progress, and adjusting programs. + Oversees purchasing activities by TAMU VET. Program Monitoring and Reporting + Maintains program activity records and provides monthly progress reports. Deployment Activities + Maintains response cache equipment, transportation assets, and supplies. Performs necessary preventative maintenance to keep cache in a mission ready state. + Drives a vehicle to carry passengers and/or medical supplies to deployment locations. Deployment sites may be within Texas or outside of the state. Why Texas A&M University?
