Job Summary

The University of Michigan Wolverine Pathways was established to increase the high school graduation rate, college acceptance and retention rates of academically promising scholars. The Program Coordinator Assistant will provide exemplary service to the Ann Arbor main office and districts of Detroit, Ypsilanti and/or Southfield by supporting the Program Coordinators, educational staff, scholars, and parents mostly virtually. In-person work will be predictable and will required for the dates listed below:

Required In-Person Dates: WP Summer Programming (Summer Camps, Summer Institute, R8/R9 Summer Program)July 7, 2025 - August 1, 2025 (Tentative) Program Coordinator Assistants will work 16-24 hours per week Hybrid - some in person dates may applyFall in-person dates TBD

Compensation: $18-$22/hour

Responsibilities*Support the design and development of academic and social skill workshops and materials that meet the needs of high school scholars and their familiesFacilitate scholar engagement in various virtual group and individual settings using platforms such as Zoom, Google Classroom and Teams Record attendance of 10th, 11th, and 12th-grade scholars and support with outreach to families for attendance tracking Support the development of a robust scholar summer program application process through team planning meetings,  data tracking, and student outreachRegularly check in with scholars and families around their academics, program participation, and college applications, as well as applications for WP summer programsAssist with planning and staffing Wolverine Pathways 10th, 11th, and 12th grade virtual and in-person events. Input data into computer systems including, but not limited to Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and database applicationsOrganize documents both physically and virtually for efficiencyCollaborate with other staff to troubleshoot a variety of situations, including issues with building facilities, scholars, staff, parents, and technologyPerform other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the programRequired Qualifications*Excellent organizational skills and experience managing large data setsExperience working with Excel and Google SheetsExperience managing multiple projectsSome experience with administration/managementExperience with college advising and college application supportExperience with high school students and family outreacMust believe in the transformative power of educationHas a keen interest in social equity and justiceSome experience with student or group facilitationDesire to be an advocate for the development of studentsExcellent communication and problem-solving skillsExcellent driving recordSpecific ability-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: communicating with diverse groups; displaying tact and courtesy; maintaining confidentiality; setting priorities; being attentive to detail; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships; working as part of a team; and working with frequent interruptions.Desired Qualifications*Experience with project or organizational programming and implementationExperience with student outreachAbility to learn new computer skills around managing data setsBe a graduate-level college student or have a degree in a relevant subject areaModes of Work
