Program Coordinator Job Details Job Location Fresno - 2772 W Martin Luther King - Fresno, CA Position Type Full Time Education Level High School Salary Range $70000.00 - $70000.00 Salary/year Job Category Management Description POSITION SUMMARY: The Program Coordinator is responsible for the supervision and coordination of Counselor Techs within the residential substance abuse treatment program. This role ensures that Counselor Techs provide consistent, supportive, and structured client engagement, adhere to daily schedules, and maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for residents. The Coordinator also ensures proper documentation, shift coverage, and communication between staff and clinical team members. Essential Job Functions include those listed below. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: + Supervise and support all Counselor Tech staff, including scheduling, timekeeping, training, and performance feedback. + Monitor staff adherence to client supervision protocols, facility rules, and residential schedules (e.g., meals, groups, recreation, chores, medication line). + Coordinate shift coverage to ensure 24/7 staff presence and minimize staffing gaps. + Conduct regular walkthroughs of the facility to ensure safety, cleanliness, and compliance with program standards. + Ensure daily shift change meetings are occurring and ensure accurate communication and handoff between shifts. + Provide or coordinate ongoing training for Counselor Techs, including de-escalation, documentation, client engagement, medication procedures, and safety protocols. + Review daily logs, incident reports, and shift documentation for accuracy and follow-up. + Act as the first point of contact for Counselor Techs regarding on-shift concerns, emergencies, or client issues, escalating to the Program Director or clinical team as needed. + Collaborate with the clinical and administrative teams to ensure Counselor Techs support treatment objectives and maintain a therapeutic milieu. + Assist with onboarding and orientation of new Counselor Techs. + Must Embrace and embody the mission, vision, guiding principles, clinical vision, and goals of WestCare Foundation; and + Perform all other duties as assigned. Qualifications ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Experience and Competencies: + Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. + Ability to manage shift schedules, documentation, and staff performance effectively. + Knowledge of residential treatment operations and behavior management strategies. + Must be comfortable working in a 24/7 facility with flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays. + Adherence to the highest standard of ethical conduct, especially to standards governing confidentiality. + Professional appearance and demeanor. + Ability to obtain and maintain clearance from California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR). + Ability to obtain and maintain clearance from LEIE, MSIL, and EPLS. + Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain and maintain WestCare’s vehicle insurance is required. + Must be able to obtain and maintain Fresno County Credentialing; and + CPR Certification, First Aid Certification and an annual Tuberculosis test. + During your tenure with WestCare there may be new requirements, including, but not limited to vaccinations that are issued by local, State, Federal, and/or Funders that WestCare may have to comply with. Should this occur Human Resources or appropriate personnel will inform you. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: + Experience consisting of a minimum of two (2) years of experience working in a residential facility. + One (1) year experience in supervision/management is preferred. + High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in human services or related field preferred. Preferred fields include Psychology, social work, rehabilitation counseling and Criminology). LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: + Alcohol and Drug Registration and actively pursuing Certification, in good standing by an agency approved and recognized by the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) is required at time of hire;Preference will be given to those candidates who are currently Certified. WORKING CONDITIONS: + Work is performed primarily in a residential treatment facility with continuous interaction with clients in recovery. + Must be available for on-call support and to respond to emergencies when needed.
