**Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):**
Bachelor’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Two (2) years of full-time relevant work experience in project management, community health program planning and evaluation, and/or team based/interprofessional education. Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Apps and digital communication tools which may include Social media (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn), Video conferencing (Zoom/Teams).
**Preferred Qualifications :**
Master’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Public Health, Community Health, Social Work, or a related field. Spanish language skills. Proficiency performing data analysis in excel, SPSS, SAS, or R. Experience within higher education, medical academic and/or a research environment. Experience with fostering collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders, such as faculty, staff, students, and student leadership. Training and/or presentation experience. Research administration experience.
**Brief Description of Duties:**
The Program in Public Health at Stony Brook University (SBU PPH) seeks a staff assistant for the position of Program Coordinator for the Stony Brook Medicine Healthy Libraries Program (HeLP). The Program Coordinator will coordinate the planning, implementation, evaluation, and dissemination activities of the Stony Brook Medicine Healthy Libraries Program (HeLP), working independently with supervision and direction provided by the HeLP Director in consultation with the HSC Deans/Directors/Faculty and preceptors involved in the leadership of the program and the Suffolk Cooperative Library System. The coordinator will work closely with the HeLP Director to raise the visibility of HeLP services to the community surrounding Stony Brook University within the healthcare professional community to promote the availability of community-based education and support that can connect patrons to existing healthcare and social services, and interact with local, state and national organizations focused on excellence in public health, IPE, library science, and related professions. This will require the program coordinator to travel occasionally within the community for partnership meetings and program enhancement.
The HeLP Program Coordinator must have strong organizational and project management skills. The successful incumbent will have excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Along with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse stakeholder and faculty members across the health professions.
**Program Coordination:**
● Assist HeLP leadership to develop, coordinate, and implement health-focused programs and workshops in collaboration with library staff and Stony Brook University faculty.
● Coordinate community-based events, health screenings, and informational sessions within library settings with the HeLP team (2 or more professions) that align with each degree programs' schedules.
● Collaborate with marketing/communications at SBM and the partnering libraries to promote health programs through various outreach efforts, including social media, flyers, and community meetings.
● Assist with coordinating meetings with HeLP Director and MPH students who are completing practicum projects that have HeLP deliverables.
● Support the development and execution of Memorandums of Understanding with partnering public libraries and degree programs at Stony Brook University.
● Prepare written narrative, video and images for media publications in partnership with Stony Brook Medicine Media Relations for local and national media outlets.
● Coordinate video shoots for promotional project for the Healthy Libraries Program in collaboration with Stony Brook Medicine social media and Engagement.
● Occasional travel within the community for partnership meetings and program coordination.
**Program Evaluation:**
● Assist HeLP leadership to monitor program effectiveness by collecting data, tracking attendance, and gathering feedback from participants.
● Assist in grant writing, reporting, and budget management related to the program
● Assist HeLP leadership to analyze and interpret student learning and community impact data, in collaboration with stakeholders including public library directors, HeLP preceptors, students and faculty involved in program delivery.
● Prepare reports and presentations (Power Point slides) for a variety of stakeholders including Stony Brook Medicine leadership (c-suite), HeLP Partnering Deans and faculty members, and preceptors.
**Training:**
● Assist the leadership to provide training and support library staff in health program facilitation and resource distribution.
● Update all training materials on a semester basis.
● Implement training protocols for HeLP students on the IPE team model, documentation, library culture and patron privacy with Stony Brook University faculty leadership.
**Grant Writing:**
● Assist HeLP leadership to prepare and submit IRB protocols to ensure use of de-identified human subject data, compliant with HIPAA and federal regulations in consultation with the HeLP Director.
● Conduct literature reviews to identify emerging areas of interest for program delivery.
Other duties or projects as assigned as appropriate to rank and departmental mission.
**Special Notes:**
This is a full-time appointment. FLSA Non Exempt position, eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA.
In addition to the employee's base salary, this position is eligible for $4,000 UUP annual location pay, paid biweekly.
**Evening and weekend work may be required at times.**
