**Position** **: Program Assistant [Infectious Disease Care] in Augusta, ME**
**Summary** : The Infectious Disease Care Program Assistant is part of the Infectious Disease Care Program within the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention (MeCDC). MeCDC is an office within the Maine Department of Health and Human Services. This position is based in Augusta and works within the hours of 8:00am-5:00pm, Monday through Friday.
The primary function of the Care Program is to use federal funds provided by the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program to support lower-income Maine residents who are living with HIV/AIDS. Currently, the program serves about 1,200 clients. The Care Program also offers certain support services for Maine residents who test positive for Tuberculosis and select other infectious diseases.
**Accountability** : This position reports to the State of Maine Infectious Disease Care Program Manager.
**Job Duties:**
Client Support
+ Process client requests for Ryan White financial assistance (to help clients with housing, and dental assistance)
+ Communicate with clients, case managers, pharmacies, medical providers, and other professionals as authorized to determine client medical and financial eligibility for assistance
Data
+ Use online databases to enter client information and assess client eligibility for financial support
+ Run data reports to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and quality of the above tasks
Administrative
+ Participate in large program mailings when it is time to notify Ryan White clients of their benefits, recertify their membership, and fill out our annual satisfaction survey
+ Perform various administrative support tasks as needed
Outreach
+ Assist with MeHAAB data collection
+ Assist with survey follow-up outreach as needed
+ Work with HIV Prevention and Surveillance to conduct outreach to Agencies, state departments, and medical providers who are not aware of ADAP/RWB
RWB Client Portal
+ Provide customer support for RWB Client Portal
General
+ Provide quality customer service to clients and key partners
+ Participate in team activities like strategic planning, continuing education, etc.
+ Other duties as assigned
+ Provide program back-up support as needed

**Qualifications:** Bachelor’s degree in health-related field is preferred; however, equivalent related work experience may be considered. Strong writing and interpersonal communication skills and cultural competence are essential.
**Abilities:** To perform this job successfully the employee in this position must be able to demonstrate at least functional proficiency in most core competencies. Must be an energetic self-starter who is able to function comfortably in a team environment or independently and relates well to co-workers and the public. This position requires flexibility and the ability to manage time and multiple tasks with little supervision.
**Physical Demands:** While performing the duties of this position, one is regularly required to sit and write, as well as operate a computer and printer, fax machine, photocopier, calculator and telephone communication devices. The employee must be able to sit and drive a car to transport him/herself to meetings or other offices.
**Mental Demands:** Must be able to assume a wide range of responsibilities, to work with staff who vary in their work styles, and to work under pressure. Willingness to work irregular/extra hours, evenings, weekends, and travel in or out of state as necessary. Provide timely response to requests and deadlines. **Work Environment:** The primary location of this position is a typical office environment. However, the responsibilities may require meetings, conferences, trainings, etc., that necessitate an individual to be in various public places.
Compensation for roles at Staffing Solutions Organization LLC (SSO) varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, SSO provides a reasonable range of compensation for this role. In addition, SSO provides a range of benefits for this role.
