This position provides a wide variety of administrative and program support to the Watkins College of Art.
1. Administrative Support: Serve as the point of contact for the main office of Watkins College of Art by answering phones, greeting and directing visitors, sorting and distributing mail and packages, maintaining office supplies and overall office functionality, assist Budget Manager and Department Chairs with tracking instructional supply expenses, and submitting repair/maintenance and housekeeping requests with FMS and Custodial Services.
2. Student Support: Assists current students with inquiries and information on the various programs within the college, organize and facilitate advising and registration events, assign advisors, give student overrides and lift advising holds, organize and assist with spring and fall student orientations, collaborate with admissions and assist with recruiting events such as Preview Days and Be Belmont Day, and create and maintain student files for the college. Hire, train, schedule and supervise student workers. Monitor and approve hours worked and collaborate with Student Financial Services regarding workers with Federal Work Study.
3. General Support:, Assist the WCA Studio Technician in
maintaining the Art studio equipment and spaces, provide support for
Commencement, assist with other occasional college and university activities
and events that may occur on evenings and weekends (e.g., setting up tables,
signage, A/V equipment, etc.) and assist the Dean’s office as needed.
