Duties Description Under the direction of the Agency Safety and Health Director 2, M2, the Program Aide, SG-13 will support the NYS Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation’s Health and Safety Bureau. This position works as part of the Bureau’s Health and Safety team to provide day-to-day support to both the Agency Safety and Health Director 2 as well as other members of the bureau. Duties of this position include but are not limited to:• Perform paraprofessional duties and provide program and technical assistance for one or more professional or technical positions.• Collect and analyze data, assist team in compiling data, running reports, or drafting documents.• Design, set-up, enter, and maintain files, records, and spreadsheets.• Assist in the preparation, review and evaluation of a variety of reports and records. • Assist in purchasing office supplies and equipment.• Assist with implementation of coat and boot program for agency.• Coordinate with EHS (Employee Health Services) for medical monitoring program for agency.• Support team during the implementation of ongoing program initiatives and/or new features or policies.• Coordinate and organize meetings; contact and schedule internal and external attendees, coordinate and schedule dates, rooms, and equipment, and prepare all necessary paperwork.• Arrange for venue, speakers, lodging, and supplies for weeklong conference for bureau.• Work effectively in a team setting and demonstrate flexibility in tasks and schedules.• Follow instructions, including written direction, accurately and efficiently.• Adhere to the agency’s Code of Conduct Policy and ensure compliance with all guidelines, policies, and procedures in the performance of daily tasks• Perform other duties and assist with special projects as required.
Minimum Qualifications Non-competitive NY HELPS Minimum Qualifications:This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS).*To be considered for appointment through NY HELPS, or 55-b/c, candidates must meet the open-competitive minimum qualifications for this position. The qualifications are:Three (3) years of experience performing clerical, keyboarding, or paraprofessional work in an office environment.55 b/c: This position is eligible for 55b/c appointment, and candidates with 55b/c eligibility are encouraged to apply. To be eligible for a 55b/c appointment, candidate must be currently enrolled in the Civil Service 55b/c program. Notification to employees regarding a change in their status is forthcoming. Additional Comments OPERATING NEEDS:• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license that allows the candidate to legally operate a motor vehicle in New York State as a term and condition of employment.• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Word, and Excel is preferred but not required. • Experience with SFS (Statewide Financial System) is preferred but not required.
