Position: Program Aide

Availability of Position: Immediate     

Schedule: M- F flexible hours             

Reporting Relationship: Childcare Coordinator/Assistant

Salary and Salary Grade: $10.05 per hour; 70

Responsibilities

Description of Position:          

 

FUNCTION:  Assist with the care of children grade K – 6 in our before & afterschool program.  Always providing the safest environment for all children involved.

 

DUTIES:

Assist with the care of each child who is part of our programAssist with homework help and encourage engaging play for those without homeworkAssist with snacks, clean up of the same, instructing children to clean up their own spaceShare creative ideas with staff for excellence in program and beneficial to childrenClean up program area as assigned, including after each project and teaching children to do the sameReport concerns and/or medical incidents to supervisor on staff immediately.Help children to grow and learn while having funSupport and affirm the Mission of The Salvation Army while on Salvation Army dutyOther job related duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be at least 16 years of agePrevious experience working with children helpfulPatient and understanding attitude working with children from various backgroundChild Protection Clearances PA Act 153 requires that all prospective employees complete the following clearance and background checks:   PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check.Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
