Position Summary:
The Office of the Provost is seeking a dynamic, skilled administrator to support the operations of three reporting offices: Institutional Effectiveness, Strategic and Educational Initiatives, and Digital Learning and Strategy. Primary responsibilities include executive support for the Senior/Associate Provosts and support for daily operations, human resources, budget and finance, and event planning and implementation. This is a full-time, in-person position.

Workplace Requirements:
This position is exclusively on-site, necessitating all duties to be performed in-person. Per Rice policy 440, work arrangements may be subject to change.
Hiring Range: $24 - $28/hour
*Non-Exempt (hourly) positions under FLSA are eligible for overtime.
Minimum Requirements:
Associate degree 3+ years of related experience in administrative and financial support in a multi-department environment In lieu of the experience requirement, additional related education, above and beyond what is required, on an equivalent year-for-year basis may be substitutedSkills:
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft and Google software: word processing, spreadsheet, email, and database software programs to complete work assignments Experience with enterprise systems for HR Strong verbal and written communication skills Basic problem-solving and critical thinking skills Ability to work independently under moderate supervision and complete tasks in a timely manner Customer service oriented Strong organizational skills Ability to multi-task Effective time managementPreferences:

Provides advanced administrative support to three offices, including faculty, administrators, students, and staff Manages calendars and resolves scheduling conflicts; arranges meetings and travel Maintains office supplies and equipment; obtains vendor quotes and manages office resources Plans, organizes, and executes departmental events, conferences, and seminars, including logistics such as room bookings, equipment setup, materials, and catering Coordinates three or more major departmental functions, including event/program administration, budget and finance, and HR Assists with event planning and travel arrangements as needed Processes and monitors a variety of financial transactions, including disbursements, reimbursements, labor distributions, expense corrections, and transfers Prepares and submits expense reports; reallocates funds and ensures financial compliance Monitors and tracks budgets and expenditures Interprets and ensures compliance with policies and procedures related to finance and HR Reviews and monitors trends to identify opportunities to streamline departmental functions Manages and maintains department records, files, and reports Represents the department to internal and external stakeholders Performs other duties as assignedAdditional Functions:
