**Responsibilities:**
+ Build and maintain positive working relationships through accountability, enthusiasm, and a commitment to patients and colleagues.

+ Model healthy work-life balance, time management, and personal well-being while identifying and reporting workplace safety concerns.
+ Apply the nursing process through Relationship-Based Care to develop individualized, holistic plans of care in collaboration with patients.
+ Demonstrate strong clinical judgment to address patients' physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs across the continuum of care.
+ Communicate effectively with the care team, ensuring accurate documentation and seamless transitions between caregivers.
+ Educate patients and families using adult learning principles to support informed care and successful transitions.
+ Serve as a mentor or preceptor to students and new staff, fostering an environment of inquiry, feedback, and continuous learning.
+ Engage actively in shared governance, quality initiatives, and performance improvement efforts to enhance patient outcomes and care delivery.
+ Use evidence-based practices to identify and implement opportunities for clinical improvement and innovation.
+ Embrace change and demonstrate flexibility to adapt to evolving care environments and organizational priorities.
+ Perform in alignment with UPMC’s system-wide competencies and behavioral expectations to uphold our high standards of care
+ Current RN licensure in the state of practice or a compact state, or eligibility for a Temporary Practice Permit (TPP).
+ BLS or CPR certification required within 30 days of hire (AHA standards, including skills demonstration).
+ Graduate Nurses must obtain licensure within 6 months of hire or 1 year of graduation, whichever comes first.
+ UPMC-approved national certification preferred.
+ Demonstrates knowledge and skills to provide age-appropriate care based on principles of growth and development across the life span.
+ Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
+ Ability to assess patient needs and respond with appropriate care based on age-specific requirements.
+ Proven ability to build and maintain positive, caring relationships with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
+ Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with changing priorities and specialized equipment.
+ Physical stamina required for frequent walking, standing, lifting, and patient positionin
