Professional Staff Nurse Expert, Women's Hospital

We are seeking a dynamic and resourceful individual to support our Women’s Hospital as a liaison to the Administrator on Duty (AOD) in the Main Hospital. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and the ability to problem-solve and think creatively and critically when needed.

What to expect in this role:

Act as a liaison between the Women’s Hospital and the AOD in the Main Hospital. Assist with recovering GYN PACU patients when Labor & Delivery (L&D) is unable due to patient census/staffing. Provide support when there is no call-person available from GYN PACU. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and communication. Address and resolve any issues or concerns that arise, ensuring a positive patient experience.

Hours: This position is full-time, straight nights. Flexible options between 4 10-hour shifts or 5 8-hour shifts. No weekends or holidays.

The Professional Staff Nurse, Expert is a Registered Nurse who plays a key role in the care delivery team, focusing on process improvement and setting standards for care quality. They hold responsibility, authority, and accountability for nursing care, managing patient care activities through independent judgment, communication, and collaboration. Their role includes leadership, partnership, collaboration, and supervision, establishing and maintaining relationships with physicians, other healthcare providers, patients, and families to achieve desired outcomes. They demonstrate a commitment to the community and the nursing profession.

Responsibilities:

Demonstrates a passion for developing others, precepting students, graduate nurses, and new hires. Analyzes clinical and behavioral situations to identify learning opportunities for improving patient care practices. Regularly seeks feedback on performance and applies continuous professional improvement. Supports continuous learning by sharing research, presenting on the unit, and supporting journal clubs. Applies the nursing process within Relationship Based Care to create a healing environment. Formulates daily goals and plans of care for patients, considering their individual needs holistically. Practices solid communication skills, articulating and translating patient conditions to other care providers. Comprehensive patient documentation to promote communication between caregivers. Demonstrates critical thinking in identifying clinical, social, safety, psychological, and spiritual issues. Incorporates goals from national professional organizations, business units, and health systems to improve patient safety, quality, and satisfaction. Creates a caring and compassionate patient-focused experience by building healing relationships. Builds and mends relationships among colleagues within a healthy workplace framework. Role models cultural awareness, preventing and addressing horizontal violence and impairment.
