One year of prior nursing experience required.

Title and Salary will be determined based upon education and nursing experience. 

Purpose: The Professional Staff Nurse is a Registered Nurse who plays a key role in delivering high-quality patient care. They are accountable for setting care standards, managing patient care, and collaborating with healthcare teams. Their responsibilities include leadership, communication, and supervision, with a strong focus on achieving positive patient outcomes and maintaining professional relationships. They also demonstrate a commitment to both the community and the nursing profession.

Responsibilities:

Builds productive relationships through accountability, enthusiasm, motivation, and commitment to patients and colleagues. Understands and respects cultural differences, promoting healthy peer relationships. Maintains balance between work and personal life, modeling safe work hours and healthy lifestyle. Communicates safety hazards to peers and management. Applies adult learning principles in teaching patients, families, students, and new staff. Provides thorough education to patients and families for care transitions. Supports development of students and new staff; may serve as a preceptor. Encourages open dialogue and continuous improvement through feedback. Uses the nursing process within Relationship Based Care to create a healing environment. Develops daily goals and care plans with patient involvement and holistic consideration. Identifies and addresses clinical, social, safety, psychological, and spiritual patient needs. Communicates effectively with care team and advocates for changes in care practices. Maintains comprehensive documentation to support caregiver communication. Aligns care with professional standards and organizational goals to enhance safety and satisfaction. Builds compassionate, healing relationships with patients, families, and colleagues. Takes accountability for professional development and quality improvement. Participates in shared governance and supports change initiatives. Acts as a responsive and engaged care team partner. Contributes to improvements in patient care and practice environment. Demonstrates adaptability and flexibility during change. Engages in unit-specific quality improvement efforts. Identifies and communicates opportunities for improvement. Takes personal responsibility for enhancing patient satisfaction. Uses research and evidence-based practice to improve clinical care. Discusses quality improvement opportunities in multidisciplinary settings. Influences patient care plans through evidence-based insights.
